I tried installing single player maps to the levels folder, then went to the game, started it, hot tilde(~) typed in \mapstrikeforce then hit enter, and nothing happened. I tried this with 3 separate maps, and either nothing happened, or it went to the start a new game or resume game page. When I hit on new game, it asked if I wanted to go to new game and old game will be deleted(in other words) and i don't want to delete my saved game, because it was hard enough to get there as it is lol What do I try now?

hi this is a dumb question. ive downloaded the camoskins.pak file for the camo skins. ive installed it into the data folder. when i go to options i see the new skins but when i get ingame i look like the basic skin. any ideas.

Quick question. When hosting a custom FFA map for friends "all of them" have to first have the exact map downloaded and placed in their levels folder in order to join... correct? Most maps I've downloaded are to large to be sent by email so it's a been of a pain to make sure everyone has the same custom maps downloaded and in sync with what I'm hosting if you follow me...

you could always use a file hosting service on the web. just search for file hosting and choose one you want. one place is

I installed maps.
Now I want to enter them Pressing the ~ button... nothing happens. I tried ~ ^¨ ... all versions of that button. I get no console. I have a laptop with swedish keyboard stup. what is your suggestion? please help. mattias |

im having a lot of problems with maps and mods i put everthing in the way it says on the instructions and/or readmes and it screws up my game what shouyld i do? i create mods folder and put in the mods and they dont work most of the time i did get one to work tacto version 1.6 great multiplayer mod

are you on about single player maps or multiplayer maps. if its multiplayer then you go to the server setup choose which type of game you want and then the maps will be selectable from the drop down menu. depending what type of game the map was for depends if its selectable. if the map was for assault only then if you have a ffa game it wont be selectable. if its single player maps ive not tried them but if you want i can have a go. i think you put in in the command window \map (map name). like i say i can try this if you wish. samtheman084 you dont need to create a mods folder farcry already has one. if you are installing maps then go to your root folder and place the map folder into the levels folder. if its a mod the put the mod(the one downloaded) folder(not the files individually) into the folder named "mods" some mods are self installing. if you have one of them then just double cilck the icon and follow the onscreen instructions. if any of this is incorrect then can an admin please clearify for me lol. some mods are self install. if the mod you have is one of these then just double click on it and follow onscreen instuctions. most self install mods create a shortcut on the desk top so to use it all you have to do is double click the icon and farcry will load using that mod.
if it is a mod that you have to place into the mods folder within the farcry root folder then after you place it into the mods folder run farcry as normal then click on the mods option on the main menu. this will give you a list of the mods you have. select the one you want and click the button at the bottom to run farcry with your chosen mod. alot of mods will ask for you to restart. click ok. and there you go. to get back to normal farcry go back to the mods option on the main menu and select the farcry mod hope this helps visit ghostwolffrcy.proboards52.com |

All right, this is a stupid newbie question, I know. And I haven't seen it answered on this thread.
I downloaded a bunch of SP maps and installed them. I get to them fine via \map whatever. Here's the question: Where are the bad guys? What do I need to do in SP mode to get someone to fight? Not that I mind exploring, but I really want to kill some people.  Thanks for answering what I'm sure is a dumb question! |

I love Far Cry and would like to make a great mao but am affraid that I won't be able to use it online. What do I do please? If I make the map will anyone play on it online? If you've downloaded custom SP maps, they will have enemies you can fight. Is it possible you are looking at MP maps? They will not have any AI/bots that you can fight with in single player mode. Can you give some examples of maps you are looking at that have no enemies when you load them? |

For the PC version of Far Cry, there is no automatic map download feature, so you need to make it available for download through some other means. You can upload your custom maps to www.farcry-maps.com, www.farcryfiles.com, or a few other sites where others have submitted their custom maps. This is the usual method of making your map available for others to play. Then players can download your map and play it. |

ok.
first time doing this and i got a bit stuck I just downloaded mp_cubicles and i put it in the C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Crytek\Far Cry\Levels folder but nothing when i try to join a server with that map it gives me an error as if i dont have the map So where should i put it Also its only 4.63 mb isnt that a bit small for a map? |
