Ok, I got this IL2 Sturmovik 1946 running on Linux. Though I got problems with the SECUROM protection because Wine (the Linux windows emulator) can't handle this. I should not mention it, I know, but I'm using a crack for the game to bypass the protection (yes, I've bought the game!). Also I got Hyperlobby to work in Wine, and so far I've been available to join a game, but after the "Connection is successful!"-message appears the game just closes and I get back to the lobby.

My simple question is, has anyone succeeded playing this game online with Hyperlobby under Wine in Linux? If so, how did you do it? Can my problem with the game closes be of the crack I'm using? Or is something else maybe?

I don't think you can discuss anything about a crack in this forum, especially since it's associated with the game producer. Maybe you should go to another forum somewhere??

Getting the game to run on Linux is a good topic and worthy of discussion. I would like to provide some basic information that you may find useful. For those of us that purchased 46 when first released back in 2006, our version had securom. The latter US release, from everything I've read, doesn't have securom, or any DRM that I am aware of.
