I doubt you will find one that beats the newer LCD's. You can try used but they only last so long. I had a Sony A series 19 inch professional model (Manufactured 1999) till a few months ago when the tube went. I could not find a CRT new that looked as good. Got a LG L1932TQ LCD (1400 to 1 contrast ratio 4ms refresh)and will never go back to CRT's for all the reasons already stated in this thread. System Specs: Intel 6400 Core 2 ASUS P5N-E SLI PCIE eVga Geforce 7950 GT 512 meg 2 gig DDR2 800 RAM Maxtor 320 SATA gig HD Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer |

crt's still the best for sure, i love my true blacks and no tft/lcd does that yet or even close to it, even the tft/lcd makers say themselves say crt is better but i think oled/sed screens might come close when they arrive.

I've been using a 19" Iiyama Vision Master 455 running @ 1600 x 1200 via a 7800GTX.
It's my second Diamondtron M2-CRT tube screen, the first Mitsubishi 17" is still going strong after 3 or 4 years. CRTs are all but impossible to find in the UK now, or I don't know where to look My wife has an Iiyama 17" LCD. It's nice but I prefer my CRT still. I see the thread is still going. LOL
OK. Since I ordered and recieved a new Viewsonic G225f CRT. I have learned about the Ilyama and other great LCD's. The Great LCDs are more expensive than what I ended up with. I wish I could afford a couple more of these and one of those Ilyamas also. Perhaps the good CRT's will become like the MS FF stick. |

LOL i managed to get my hands on an all but impossible to find 32 inch smasung High defenition crt tv!
My tv broke, and i wanted to have an HD display for my 360 but a decent display for standard broadcast images. HD lcds look horrible on standard broadcasts, this looks great! CRTs are great if you like:
A) Tiny little screens B) Regular aspect (not wide screen) C) Taking up your entire desk with a 150lb hunk of glass and plastic. A decent monitor now starts at 24" and a good one starts at 27. The best is 30". You just can't get that kind of real estate in the CRT flavor. Not only that but who makes 'em anymore? |

alot of that is true but some people like me still put quality before size |

Freelancer:
Tiny screen? No widescreen? You need to visit this link that I posted once before: http://www.accurateit.com/details.asp?iid=156 24" of widescreen CRT goodness. Granted, it's a bit on the heavy side (92.6 Lbs), but I'll put up with that for the advantages that CRT's have over LCD's. Much better color fidelity, higher refresh rates, and not being locked-in to the 'native resolution' |

And my Betamax tapes are of a much higher quality than VHS...
Buzzard & traders' it's 2007 - throw out your CRT's!!! |

hehe but we both like the superiour image quality of the crt's over tft/lcd thats not our fault and true the betamax was far better than vhs |
