Well, I am home now after a long day (21 or so hours) and 3 months in The Netherland for work.
I went to Arnhem before I came home and of course, it rained on Saturday. I did go to the Airborne Museum and did take pics, but not many outside. I got some good pics inside though. Pretty interesting. Here are a few pics from Arnhem and Oosterbeek. I played with the contrast of the bridge pics. I took them about 7:40PM on Friday night as I just had to see the bridge even though I was fairly beat. "Do not build your community around a game.... Wow! Great photos. I had always wanted to see some pictures from there in the present day.
I wonder how similar it looks today compared to 65 years ago. -PC Performance Aficionado and proud forum member since 2001 |

This reminds me I should go there sometime. Nice pics!
"The pilot managed to crashland it successfully and we refrained from shooting up the survivors. The word must have got around, as the next day I was shot down and had to bale out. While I was lying in the sand with a busted shoulder, the Bf 109 pilot who did me made a run over me but held his fire." Flg Off R.F. Martin, No 73 Sqn |

Arnhem was such a tragedy. So many deaths for such a physically small bridge.
