  How dare they make fun of calvin and hobbes with some stupid manga! I hate manga and Anime. It actualy makes me angry. Who has pink hair and eyes the size of bowling balls, and pointy hair and stupid ninja crap and small noses and sh!t?? I hate manga and anime. Just thought I'd share.  Being British is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, then grabbing an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab on the way home, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV. |

Listen owl, don't you think you're being very close-minded and immature with your feelings toward manga/anime? It's from a culture and place that you have minimal understanding of. Instead of saying "i hate manga", try to research it and watch some highly acclaimed examples of the genre, and i'm sure you will change your mind.

Secondly, do Smurfs meet your requirements for how animation is supposed to look? You may not be old enough for some of the truly great anime/manga out there, but don't dismiss an entire genre. You have my pity because you are missing some good stuff. Anime/manga is no worse than American cartoon/comic books. It has its own in the good/bad/ugly catagories.

Owl there are a lot of things out there that aren’t to my taste, but that doesn’t stop me appreciating their great qualities. As others have said above its worth looking into the history of Anime a little, while doing so might not change your view, it will certainly give you some appreciation of it
