Read this... http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=2039&page=116

Then click on the ghostfiles link there and scroll halfway down the page. It's staring right at you.

Yes.

Where you guys get 2010 or even 2011 now is beyond me. No surprise that the biggest supporters of mods seem to be the biggest detractors of SOW.

Hmm. Looks like it was edited. It didn't say that a couple of days ago. Confused

Blehhh. Personally I couldnt give a monkeys about all this super duper pressure front moddeling etc. Give me a better GUI, better sounds, a better FMB, tweak the AI with more options on what we can make them do in the FMB, more detailed airstrips with lots of "Life to them", better graphics and an update the damadge model.

Please, weather is one of the most important aspects of flying and one of the things that give civilian sims like MSFS or X-Plane a big realism edge.

Honestly with that kind of thinking we would still be flying FS98 or worse.

In IL2 I feel like Im actually flying a plane. It draws me into its world. In FSX I don't. This is because FSX is a stale enviroment that doesnt draw you into anything. I personally could not give a flying crap if my plane goes 1 MPH faster when flying through different humidity.

i was wondering about that also.

from what ive read its olegs hope to have it done by the fall of next year.

of course with unforseen delays, xmas time next year might be more realistic imo.

Damn, if that's the case I apologise. Indifferent

Seems a lot of disinformation flying around that's making ME start to wonder.

Well how many planes have you flown? Razz

I know what you mean however...too often FSX looks very pretty but feels sterile...there are a few outstanding add-on planes but most often it is the case.

Come on though, weather can change suddenly IRL and can be a major source of danger. Imagine having to put up with a nasty front and icing in addition to combat damage!!

THAT'S excitement.

FSX sterile? Have either of you used FSX in its current state? Sterile if you require combat, but hardly sterile at all in terms of "flying". Try the new, superb freeware Beaufighter VI-X set for FSX. The FM is far more challenging than the Il-2 Beaufighter. Managing a four motor beast with all of its systems is a simming challenge which Il-2 cannot offer because of its simplified controls. Compared to the real flying challenges in FSX, Il-2 looks like an aerial "shooter". Right now I prefer FSX to Il-2 because I enjoy flying in inclement weather, I enjoy flying four motor bombers, and FSX looks so much better than Il-2 modded or otherwise.

If FSX had combat, it would be the best thing until BOB.
