Don't blame me, I'm only posting a link.

Sorry guys, bad timing - see below.

Nice.

I kinda looked at the screen with a blank stare while viewing this. It wasn't even amusing accidentally. However, the onion's piece about the new Apple laptop with a single control wheel really gave me a hoot, and I'm a long time Mac fan.

In other news, Beck just underwent an emergency appendicitis.

Edit:

I was fairly certain you had no idea about the man's health situation.

If I'd known about the appendicitis, I'd not have posted the link. I'll edit it out: thanks HayateAce.

I didn't see any malice in your post, I just thought it was a lame piece, regardless of the target.

However, do check out the Apple "wheel" video. It's really a riot.

We have a different sense of what's funny, HayateAce. I think maybe political satire is more common this side of the pond, or at least we can get away with more. In fact at times it seemed that the only effective critics of government were the satirists, though the bunch we have now (in all parties) are almost beyond satire, and would make for great entertainment if they weren't running the country.

I haven't been able to find the Apple video: can you give us a link?

Would it have been satirical and funny to have Obama as the subject of that piece?

Here's the Mac piece. Smile

"I never knew how much I hated keyboards until I saw this."

You have to pause the video and read some of the sentence suggestion technology.

Political satire has always been a comedy staple in this country. It's just now we are so politically divided that neither side can see any humor in the other sides jabs. It's all taken as political and personal attacks. A sad commentary on the current state of affairs in the U.S.

You may well be right, Rjel. That would explain a lot.

HayateAce: I've seen the Apple video: it's a good one. Thumbs Up

Come on people, this is THE ONION we are talking about. Just like Southpark, they skewer EVERYONE and EVERYTHING. Nothing is scared for them.

I happen to be a Glenn Beck fan, and I still found it funny.

One of the funniest things about The Onion is the comments you see on YouTube from people who think it is a serious news station: always worth a look after you've watched the videos.

Well, I won't likely get a break on this one. SNL had a small Beck segment that gave me a chuckle, and I full well know the man is an easy parody. I just didn't find this to be one their better skits, that's all. You can take me for face value, or you can say that it's a "sad commentary." Roll Eyes

I can't watch 'Daily Show' videos here in the UK: Copyright restrictions or something I expect.

How is Beck doing, anyway?

Not even the stuff on the main page?

Not too good, Jon Stewart is eviscerating him - it's a masterpiece.
