It`s not that I don`t like you. It`s just that you always like the wrong things. If you`d just agree with everything I say then we`d be best friends. Wink2

Keep the info coming. I may unpack my game computer for this one.

P.S. I am having troubles logging in to the ROF site.

Oooooooooooooooh the irony. Wink

Seriously though. I thought you were one of the bigger proponants of RoF, leit. I'm surprised your not BnZing in a Fokker as we speak.

I am clearing the house for a move and, to expedite the process, I removed the biggest impediment to keeping focused on the task---the game computer. I am out of gaming until I arrive at my destination. There I will have to upgrade my computer so that I can run ROF and FSX maxed out. I am out of the picture for several months, but I remain an ROF "booster".

Good luck. Hope all goes smoothly.

Reading up on this game on various forums has become too much to bear so I've caved in and ordered my copy from FlightSim Pilot Shop. Being delivered by Fedex so hoping to have my mits on it by the weekend.

I'm running it just fine on my rig @ 8xAA and 16xAF

gameplay in SP is outstanding - multiple aircraft in the air and on the ground in SP scenarios with no real impact on FPS even when many MG's are being fired

I have a P4 3.4 dualcore on 985Platinum msi board 4 gigs ram and a Zotac 8800gt 512 GPU windos Xp Pro 32

Man this sim really got me drolling. Googly

I thought I'd download a khm..khm... pirate khm..khm.. demo to let me see if it is worth of buying.

I'd like to become more familiar with WWI aircrafts and I think that kind of sim is a briliant start.

Nice screeens heywoood Thumbs Up

oh no -

do you remember how Il2 looked at first?

it was revolutionary at the core - but so few planes - and zero western alliance aircraft aside from lendlease..?

a crappy P-39
a crappy P-40 with rediculous dihedral
and a hurricane

"lawnmowers"
"muzzleflash"
"cockpit bars"
etc...

No flight sim pops out of the womb in perfect, fully developed maturity...it is a process.

You just wanna see good bone structure and strong healthy movement. The rest will come given time.

Flightsims alone among the gaming industry are allowed this maturation process (or should be) by true flightsim enthusiasts - because a proper flight sim (especially involving combat) requires time out in the world to develope into its full potential.

RoF is exactly that type of flight sim.

Buy it now and come along with it and you will be glad you did.

Or not.

only the namby pambys are wringing their hands and crying over it - them and the OFF promoters fearful of the eventual takeover.

My copy arrived from across the pond this morning less than 48 hours after ordering it Thumbs Up . Installed and activated but will have to wait until later this evening before I can play it. Got a couple of jobs to do then I'll get the fridge stocked with 'refreshments' and I'll be all set. Can't wait! Metal

Just get it SB. You'll be having such a good time getting to know the cockpits and CEM that you'll happily be able to pass the time looking forward to new content. Wink2
