1/144 with a 1/32 panel, strange piece, but the 1/72nd version of this Spit is ridiculously expensive when it turns up - this was a much cheaper option.

This particular Gladdie is very popular with collectors for some reason. It's nice - but not the bestest ever Corgi in the whole wide world some reviewers and collectors rave about.








Late war Swordfish - I'd like a couple more of these, especially a 'Bismark' or 'Tarranto' but again they're very popular and hard to find, even the D-Day 'non limited edition' cheaper option. Nice touch with the folding plastic wings - apparently it's impossible to do them in zinc.










Radar equipped - credited with the last U-boat kill of WWII...very fragile, and that black is a bloody dust magnet. I'll get a tin of compressed air for this one...













So there you go - my little collection. Sometimes I wish I'd kept most of them stashed away in their boxes - but that would negate the point of having them unless you treat them as an investment. The family does refer to it all as "Unc's pine box fund", though. Nice to know they care.

I wonder at the size of your houses, guys. I'd have to sleep in the elevator if I had a collection like that in my flat.

Oh, the whole collection's housed in a tiny room in the west wing of Lowflyer Hall, Dux. A couple of the servants had to make way and bunk up with a couple more along the corridor, but the Spitfires come first.



I'll give 'em Christmas day off and let them have the heating on low for one night a week - 'quid pro quo' and all that, eh?
