Ok so the other day I decided to fly the p-38J against a Me262 ( Believe it or not folks! ) First past I turned time to 1/2 and started to fire short shots with the machinegun and cannons. Next thing I saw was that its engine was smoking and it was not firing at me. Now THATS what I call a quick kill. But I need some help with the how to gain speed so get aleast 1.36m 1.99M away from it. Any tips guys?

Okay, be nice to the new meat...errr sim enthusiast .
Been a while since I went up against an AI 262. What was the AI setting rookie, average...?
Online against other people they are pretty much untouchable unless you're in another jet, or the guy flying wants to turn fight (TB is not a good tactic in jets vs. props). Also 262 are VERY susceptible to any cannon/machine gun fire.

Just for the sake of experience try to fly a 262. Took me a while, move the throttles too fast and ignore your airspeed you tend to catch fire and blow-up.

Just try to lure him into a turning-fight. The 262 will outspeed you at any alt - there's no hope of catching or running away from him.
As soon as you got him sucked into a turning-fight you have him, as he can't turn tight enough without bleeding speed off too quickly. His engines keep him from accelerating out of that situation and that's when you can reverse and settle at his six.
