I did a few of those balsa kits years ago, my first was a complete disaster as when it came to doping the fabric I forgot to dilute the solution and the wings on my Hurricane kind of warped Blush

Oh NOOOOOOO! Big Grin

built this when I was a kid. Look at that wing! can you imagine all the little individual pieces of balsa that wing is made of! Eek

It came out beautifully! bow

Took it over to my grandmas house in the country to test fly it for the first time. Wound the rubber band up tight and let her fly.

something told me I shouldn't. I was right. It flew and flew beautifully. On and on and on and on..

It was corn season. It landed in a huge corn field. Don't fly a plane next to a corn field. EVER EVER EVER!

I never found it.. Crying

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I should have the cockpit finished this weekend and installed. I did away with the dust gasket I had made from plastic card. It was just too thick and the 109F was a streamlined machine. I've got it sorted now and it looks great. I'll have some pictures soon.

Here are the markings.

And while I'm at it. Fantastic work from everyone here as usual! bow bow bow That Mig 3 is a real beauty CyberWings! Top notch.

If you still need that part let me know Carts. I had my PM notifications fouled up so I did not see the message until today.

A speck of dirt on your windscreen could turn into an enemy fighter in the time it took to look round and back again. A little smear on your goggles might hide the plane that was coming in to kill you.

Little thing I have been playing around with, I know It's painted, but the front still needs finishing, the port outer wing, the internal main Engine and the whole of the underside, was having a play around with the salt method to weather and also some acrylic paint washes to give it the well weathered well used look of a fighter coming to the end of its service life..... Just wanted to do some practising before i start on some of my chinook bits, so this was the opportunity Smile

Not happy with the canopy so will get redone.

I love this model Taylortony.

It reminds me of the early 1970s concept drawings for Star Wars vehicles.

I wish. Wink2 Maybe a young corn farmer found it and decided to take up flying lessons after flying it numerous times.. Big Grin

On a related "charlie brown incident" I once bought a beautiful and very expensive nylon rip stop kite. Got it up almost out of sight when the wind snatched the line from me. The line shot out in front of me and before I could catch it it lodged in a very very high tree. The tree flew that kite all night long by itself till the wind died sometime in the night. The next day I found my kite string over at least seven neighborhoods over trees, tv antennas and houses but I never got the kite back. Sad
