"a little WD-40..." Too Happy

Very cool old Rambler;with a 418 in that relativly small body,it must've been a handful down the track!

The old Rambler blowing the new Vette away was GREAT,I always root for the vintage stuff(even if the engine's new-because I feel we should remember the roots, history, drag racing's origins)! Thumbs Up

Call of Duty: World at War is a first-person shooter video game developed by Treyarch and published by Activision for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360. It is the fifth installment in the Call of Duty video game series, excluding spin-offs.[1] The game is set in the Pacific theater and Eastern front of World War II.[1][2] The game is scheduled to ship in North America on November 11, 2008.

Gameplay
Call of Duty: World at War will feature a more mature theme than previous installments in the series. Swimming elements will be introduced to the series for the first time in single player and multiplayer. While in water, the player cannot sprint and will only move at half speed.[6] Flamethrowers, first introduced in Call of Duty: United Offensive, will be reintroduced with new flammable environments. The game will be slightly more open-ended than previous games in the series, as there will be multiple ways to complete missions.[7]

Multiplayer
World at War will feature cooperative gameplay with up to four players via split-screen on consoles, or four players online, for the first time in the franchise. Cooperative multiplayer on the Wii will allow for multiple players to play on one screen. It will also use a perk system similar to Infinity Ward's Call of Duty 4.[2] Activision has also confirmed the presence of vehicles in multiplayer.[8]

Plot
The story mode features two campaigns, one featuring the United States Marine Corps battling the Japanese Army in the Pacific, and the other following the Soviet Red Army on the Eastern European Front near the end of the war. One part of a level entitled "Makin Raid" shows an Allied prisoner of war being tortured by the Japanese before having his throat slit by a katana. The player's character witnesses this scene and is later rescued by U.S. Marines who liberate the camp.[9] Two other levels were later revealed by IGN: one involves the player using the machine guns on a PBY Catalina to attack a Japanese naval fleet, and the other shows the beginning of the Russian campaign. In that level, the player and a Russian sniper attack German troops under the cover of a bombing raid.

World at War will have an approximately two-year long development cycle, double that of Treyarch's previous title, Call of Duty 3.[6] The game will be powered by an enhanced version of Infinity Ward's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare engine - improvements have been made to the physics model. Environments are now more destructible and can be set on fire with the flamethrower (which features propagating fire). Bullets can also cut holes in thin wood, making a gap big enough for the player to climb through.[6] Kiefer Sutherland and Gary Oldman have been cast as voice actors for the game, the former taking the role of the main character, Sgt. Roebuck.[11]

A full-sized replica PBY Catalina was constructed for motion capture use.[6]

Marketing
The first trailer for the game premiered on Xbox Live Marketplace on June 21, 2008.[12] It was made available five days later on PSN on June 26, 2008.[13]

McFarlane Toys will release four action figures to coincide with the release of the game.

"The average gamer has killed more Nazis than the Russian army"

Personally, I'm done with WWII shooters. Only so much nazi killing you can take before it gets boring.

And I've figured out my DD 240Z when I have the money to build it:

that kind of setup + LSx engine + AWD system = win.

PanzerAce... Would enjoy seeing some photos of the work in progress. Thumbs Up My brother just finished with putting in new body mounts in his 91 Blaser. He had the body [all new body parts and metal], suspension and drive train all reworked over the last 5yr's.

BillyTheKid_22... Hello! How was your vaction? Sniper link is cool... will have have to check tis out better later on. Thumbs Up

Esel... Call of Duty looks extremely well done... been keeping my eye on Brother's in Arms: Hec's Highway as I have the other two editions. UHmmm

While at work last night I had to do some extra duty... I was getting on the elevator and saw out of the corner of my eye some motion down one of the halls. A skunk had found it's way into the building. LoL I found one our trusty security people and with a bit of couching and opening up some exits for our weary traveler. We succeeded in saving the building from massive over spray of his or her visit. Big Grin

BillyTheKid_22-I've sampled COD4 and it's pretty darned good! Thumbs Up
That's a cool-looking ;'sniper' game,too,Thanks M8!

PanzerAce- Too Happy I know what you mean, I played the first release for hours at a time, when I got bored,I put it away and never touched again(after going through it twice).
I was out at a friend's house,he had COD4,and it rekindled my enjoyment of some 'ground combat'.

Good to see you,it's been awhile.
If you're planning on making a rally-style Z,with the features you listed, that's gonna be a BLAST to drive on curvy dirt (With a tire change, you'd be ready for any road) roads-now thats' fun,my kind of fun. Wink2

Keep us updated. Wink2

Woofie-I've got Silent Hunters 4,but have never taken the time to read the manual. Veryhappy

What little I've messed with it,it seems great,I've just need to learn how to control it.

Too Happy Glad to hear you didn't get 'hosed' by the skunk!Great story,M8!!! Veryhappy

Unfortunately I think it's going to be atleast a year before I can get it built, since I need to focus on graduating and then getting a real life job, including probably moving out east at the same time :/

PanzerAce-I hear ya,I know about more 'wants' than you can afford.
Oh well, gives you time to develop/fine tune your plans.I've found it helpful to keep notes and even draw plans(esp. if it's a custom piece I have to fab.,i.e. brackets, etc.)

Did you ever get that 'Z' for free ?

Woofie-When I was a kid,I always thought "Sink the Bismarck" was cool. Veryhappy

The more pics of SH4 you post, the more you make me want to read that manual! Thumbs Up

The guy with the Z finally called me back today. He's been looking for the paperwork for awhile, but I should have the Z in my hands within a week or two. Supposedly all the stuff is there and there is air in the tires, but who knows *nail biting*
