The Anglophone parts of the world has not been the only wet place this last week, Southern parts of Norway have gotten all summers worth of rain this last week.

So, it'll be:

Singing in the rain - Frank Sinatra

And I rather think I'll have some grog with that.

Fly friendly!

Their saying we might be hitting 80's F this week.
Guess it's a Good Time for some outside Grilling! Veryhappy

Had this in the paper today...

Combat Steaks

For the rub:

1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

For the steak

4 bone-in rib steaks, about 10 inches each and 1 inch thick
3 large portobello mushrooms, about 4 ounces each or 1 pound button mushrooms
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup red wine
1/2 cup crumbled blue or feta cheese (optional)

In a small bowl mix the rub ingredients.
Massage the rub into both sides of each steak. Let the steaks stand at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes before grilling.
Meanwhile, prepare the mushrooms.
Remover the mushroom stems and discard. Wipe the mushroom caps with a damp paper towel. With a teaspoon, scrape out the dark gills (if using portobello mushrooms) and discard. Cut each mushroom in half, and then cut each half crosswise into 1/2-inch slices.

In a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat, melt 1/4 cup of the butter. Add the mushrooms and garlic, spreading the mushrooms in a single layer. Season with the salt and pepper. Cook until the mushrooms are barely tender, 4 to 5 minutes, stirring 2 or 3 times. Add the wine and cook until nearly all the wine has evaporated, about 3 minutes, stirring once. Set aside.

With the lid closed, grill the steaks over direct medium-high heat (450 F to 500 F) until cooked to desired doneness, 8 to 10 minutes for medium-rare, turning once. (If flare-ups occur, move the steaks temporarily over indirect medium-high heat.) Remove from the grill and let rest for 2 to 3 minutes.

Meanwhile, reheat the mushrooms over medium heat, adding in the remaining 1/4 cup of butter and heating until the butter has melted. Serve the steaks warm with the mushrooms and butter mixture spooned over the top. Add the crumbled cheese, if desires.
Makes 4 servings.

Well I guess they will be glad of a little of that rain in Bergen. I think I caught some newscast when I was over that there was concern over a lack of water supply for the city ?

Of course I may have misinterperited that

The wife got back from A Funeral in Numedal last weekend and although she did mention the rain she said it was good to see that things were getting a lot Greener and that it was looking beutiful up in the mountains.

Can't wait to get back.

LOL Your not helping my diet Woofie.

Houston - Dean Martin (there is a rain link in there honest!)

I fancy a good ol Cornish 'oggy and a pint of guiness today please. Maybe a little rabbit food with that also some lettuce and tomato's and some fetta cheese.

Thumbs Up

If 6 Was 9... Hendrix

Yeah, sing the song, Bro'

If the sun refuse to shine,
I don't mind, I don't mind,
If the mountains fell in the sea,
let it be, it ain't me.
Alright, 'cos I got my own world to look through,
And I ain't gonna copy you.

Now if 6 turned out to be 9,
I don't mind, I don't mind,
Alright, if all the hippies cut off all their hair,
I don't care, I don't care.
Dig, 'cos I got my own world to live through
And I ain't gonna copy you.

White collared conservative flashing down the street,

Pointing their plastic finger at me.
They're hoping soon my kind will drop and die,
But I'm gonna wave my freak flag high, high.
Wave on, wave on
Fall mountains, just don't fall on me
Go ahead on Mr. Business man, you can't dress like me.
Sing on Brother, play on drummer.

And to the Great State of Texas!
