well we have faster trim now, nice to see you

though im taking a slight risk to damage my sight with this exercises there are two things that make it worth it:

the posibility of achieving enlightenement whatever it is

and on a more mundane way the same a yogi can control his heart rythm, that according science you cant

what about having cosncious control of the muscle of your eye lens

if you had focus control of your eye any problem that required glasses could be solved this way

edit:

deepo probably im wrong but i can notice my saccades with the eye fixed

and my record stopping them is 15 seconds

i think the key to stop saccades is to stop thought

second 10 your mind goes black second 15 reality appears so amazing you cant avoid think-look at it

i think here may lie the key to enlightenement:

to stop thought-microsaccades long enough

if you dont bother to think why would you bother to look to what your eyes see? then why would you need saccades

hi messaschnitzel and immorebetter,

sure, i wasn't really about meditation Smile
it is just, that 'thinking' has kind of a vague meaning. i guess, usually it describes strings of verbal thoughts.
imo, meditation tries to avoid the 'ratio' and the concentration on meanings. like to open up for the input without blocking filters... holiday for the cortex, let the senses play and watch them from the inside.

hi raaaid,

the 'controlling heart' myth is not about a total control. but surely you can train to supervise some of your vegetative functions, although the result is highly questionable and dangerous - once a fakir, always a fakir Smile

the micro-tremor is slightly different. there is, different to heart-beat and other vegetative controlled functions, no feedback in the cortex involved. micro-tremors are regulated on some direct input to the eye-muscles from the first neuronal retinal layer. micro-saccades are another phenomen, which probably is needed for different potentials as well as for re-fixation after drift (there is a possibility, that the correcting part depends on feedback of the visual memory). both, the tremor and the micro-saccades, are absolutely unnoticed, and there is no way for the conscious neo-cortex to interfere.

also, don't mix microsaccades with saccades, like during the fixation while reading (or like watching outside a train-window). although these can rarely be initiated (they can, but doesnt make sense to do so - there is also an illness, where people hve constant saccadic movements), they can easily be suppressed - as long as you are in a steady environment.

well, sure there are theoretical possibilities to stop eye-movemnet, like inactivating eyeball-muscles.
i highly doubt though, that you have found a way to receive a feedback on microsaccades from your eyeballs (as the first humanlike specimen) and to specifically inactivate your eye-muscles.
all just by considering a bit of meditation.

i like your philosophical approach on the reverse chain of no thoughts-no inputs needed. however, all the bothering stuff is just a couple of neurons firing - the sensoric outlands though don't bother about them as well.
