Yeah, _I_ would like to play SH4 more, but my "computer" doesn't Smash So here's what I have cooking instead as regards the bubblehead thing:

A wee Black Sea Duck career running and progressing nicely. How's yours going?

And I sometimes write reports, too, as is expected from a sub commander:

PATROL REPORT

Novorossiysk 20JAN43 1354hrs
U-9, Unterseeboot Type IID
Commander Oberleutnant zur See Marc Sturmowski, 30th / 33rd Flotilla, Costanza

Called into port at Novorossiysk having used up all my torpedoes during a short but eventful patrol. Sunk two Russian troopships for a total patrol result of 15664 tons. The Russian ASW forces do put up a show, but are nevertheless quite ineffective.

The Russians have seemingly set up a westward shipping lane running some 30NM south of the northern Black Sea coast between Novorossiysk and Tuapse. The route is predominantly used by small troop transport and freight convoys, with some unescorted small craft (coastal tankers, trawlers etc.) occasionally appearing as well. The convoys are, however, always escorted by 2 or 3 Storozhevoy or Novik class destroyers, and 1 or 2 Uragan torpedo vessels.

I intend, BDU orders allowing and God willing, to exploit this finding further on my next patrol.

Signed,

Marc Sturmowski
Oberleutnant z. S.

You are using GWX, eh?

SHIII was a true masterpiece and an all time classic. I played it to death. Unluckily with my new widescreen flatscreen, I never could get SHIIIto run on it propperly. I finally deleted the whole game about a month ago and now wait for the GWX expansion for SHIV

I am indeed Smile Can't beat it, one of the best mods ever done for any game IMHO. Well SH3 has its share of annoyances just like any other game too, but GWX more than makes up for them I think...

Yah, I fly as a ground-pounder for the Russians and skipper subs for the Germans, so it all kind of balances out nicely I think - provided that I don't kill myself accidentally fighting for the both sides at the same time Veryhappy

Yea I was a beta-tester for GWX 2.0 and it was a great time. Great bunch of guys and really hard working as well. I hope if we go the mod route here...especially with SOW that we get as talented and dedicated modders. Happy

Right one.

besides modpacks like GWX may be the answer for compatibility issues for online play in IL2, too. Same modpack for everyone will provide a perfect basis to hinder fractioning of the game's online community.

I too prowl the depths in my Type VII. Early on in my latest career and the Admiralty is hot for my blood. I'm using GWX and loving it.

S! Herr Kaleun Worf.

I found out that the IID is one tough critter - dove her to 181m and no fuss, no mess, no nothing except stylishly evading those pesky Storozhevoys Thumbs Up SH3 Commander's crush depth randomization keeps you on your toes, but you sometimes get a better-than-average boat too...

Comes Friday night however and me with a couple of brewskis under my belt, and whaddya know - accidentally dove her to 190m and lights out folks Sad You need the Type VII for that kind of thing.

How's things going in the Atlantic then?

Wow. In a IID?!!!??? In that dugout canoe!!!! Geeze Louise man, you've got minerals!!! I wouldn't do that with your life much less mine. Did do time in the old IID I'd just putt out to the coast of England sink as much as I could then hidey home quick.
