i think i might have been a samurai or something this is why:

once at night pretty drunk i was cutting ham with a long knife saw a fly and split it in two halfs with the knife, it was the only time i ever tried this, so my efectivity of cutting flying flyis in half are 100%

other time i dreamt i was fighting two guys with a sword and one guy hit me in the neck and i felt how i lost my blood and died, it was a drug like experience, isnt it odd you dream your death with such detail?

Who knows? I don't believe in it myself, I also never heard of keeping "physical" skills from one life to another though one is supposed to learn with each lifetime.

Well, I myself have had several instances of memory from past lives. Occasionally one will have a knack for something they were good at in a past life but it's rare. The fly incident was most likely a lucky shot but I can only imagine how cool that was, lol. I study various kinds of swordsmanship so I know how difficult it is to actually cut a moving object that small and even someone with great skill would not be able to do that but once in a blue moon.

P.S I hope you washed the knife before you went back to cutting the ham, lol.

This is very thin evidence to base being a past Samurai on. now if you picked up a samurai sword, took on a REAL Samurai (they do still exist) and beat him first time in practise combat, then maybe.

Also, why is it that people who believe they can remember their previous life always think they were something heroic or great? No one ever seems to remember that they were a freezing peasant in the year 1100AD working all their lives in mud, being kicked about by the local Lord until he dies in his frozen straw hut.

It`s nice, and i`m not saying there`s no such thing as re-encarnation, but I wouldn`t hedge my bets on it.

I agree, I tend to put very little credence to those who claim to have been great people. My clearest past life memory was nothing of the sort. I was upper class but the memory was not great, I recall my wife and I walking back to our manor from a neighbors party ( best I can tell this was early Victorian period), it was a nice night so we sent the coach back without us and walked. Well we we held up by a highway robber and my wife refused to give up the locket I gave her when we were courting so he stabbed her and ran off, I remember her dying on the side of the road. So not very glamorous that.

Jed Clampett, looking at 2 flys about a hundred yards away: Reckon you could shoot one of them flys, Jethro?

Jethro: The one the left or the one the right?

I don't believe in "past lives". I believe when you're dead, that's it, you're dead. No sense in worrying over it.

I have to agree with finding the "past life of greatness" to be suspect as well. But- I won't totally discount the possibility that perhaps we are reincarnated.

Death is a great mystery and I'm all for finding things to make it seem less scary. However, being the final question we all get to sit around and wait- hopefully as long as possible- to find out what the answer is.

I remember I was once a young lad full of love, projects and good intentions. Then love got a hold on me and shrugged my soul to convert me into a cynical man without any hope nor seek for happiness.

Ah wait, that was in THIS life. Roll Eyes

Yes, I was a 200-lb show pig which was run over by a tractor-trailer while crossing a country road at midnight.

Actually this topic is pretty interesting. There was a case of a boy who had all the memories of a child that died in a village close to him many years before. He knew things no one else could know about the boy. His memories lasted for a few years of this till he started to get older and totally forgot his old identity. Eek
