As some of you may remember, General Friedberg, WW2 aviation hero, passed away a few weeks ago.
He was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery yesterday. I was a part of family, friends and legionaires who were present at the ceremony. The procession started just opposite the Pentagon and rolled down to his grave site. The Air Force band and rifle team were excellent. They must do a lot for a General as this was very impressive. There were some Army personnel also. I hope this link works to the Kodak gallery sent to me of the photographs. I appear in some of the photos. Please don't let this keep you from viewing them For those that have not seen a funeral at Arlington, check this out. http://www.kodakgallery.com/Sh..._-view_photos_button This message has been edited. It was sad for those of us who knew him.
I felt this community would appreciate seeing this ceremony given his accomplishments during the war and throughout his life. -PC Performance Aficionado and proud forum member since 2001 |
