I was just looking at the Registered Dates of some of you posters. I feel REAL old. I got the first IL2 back in November 2001 the day it was released. I've been in and out of the game as interest has waned ... but I've had a sudden revitalization in the last couple of months.
So .... what's your Registration Date Old Timer??? Registered: Sat January 12 2002 |

I too bought the original IL2 back when it was released. But my interest with it has ebbed and flowed back and forth ever since. My recent resurgence started several months back and I'm still playing it on a daily basis.
Although I'm more of a lurker here than a regular forumite. Since I registered on Nov.17th 2002 and have only tallied up about 50 posts. |

I think I registered in 2003, but I've been playing since the original IL2 was released. I was just looking through my old games and I have the original IL2, FB, the AEP, and then Il2-46-I'm glad to have supported Oleg and 1c for so long!

I got the original IL2 for Xmas 2001. I joined the forums December 30th 2001.
IL2, in its various incarnations, has never been off the hard-drives of my subsequent PC's ever since. Not many games can boast that sort of longevity. Mine was initially June of 2003 but I had a name change and had to re-register. Btw, moving this to the Off Topic forum.

Thanks for moving it. I can use the walker instead of the wheelchair. I lurked a bit before registration. May 21, 2002 Good hunting, Cajun76 =USAF= (Ret) Magnum-PC.comCheck it, bleed. Bro... was ON! Didn't trip. But the folks was freakin', Man. Hey, and the pilots were laid to the bone, Homes. So Blood hammered out and jammed jet ship. Tightened that bad sucker inside the runway like a mother. Haven't seen anyone in this thread that's been around longer than me
Unfortunately my original nick got eaten a long time ago... Regards, FW190fan "We are now in a position of inferiority. Being new to the whole 'forum thing' I was first here under my real name (yeah I know,...noob). Later someone PMed me and explained the dangers of using my real name on the net, so I came up with my current ID.

Well I must be fifth or sixth generation forumite. It all started with great-great great-great grandpappy Low_Flyer in the original Il2 days.
I remember great-great grandpappy Low_Flyer_MkII used to tell me tales of how they all made their own entertainment in those days. "You young pups have got it all for you on a plate nowadays" He'd say, "And still you whine for more. In my day if we wanted a Zero we'd slap meatballs on a 190 and off we'd go. Spitfire? Well you just paint up that Yak in Limey colours and pretend the Crimea is France...and you know, I think we were happier in those days then than you noobs will ever be with your new-fangled maps and Mustangs and 1024 by 1024 skins you can see offline!" "Sheesh!" He'd continue, "That ol' Pilots Lounge was something to see, heaving every night with some new depravity..." He even told tales of conversations he had with Oleg himself, but I think the old-timer was exaggerating somewhat with that one. |
