Nobody wants to touch this one, eh?
Back in the day, stews were ultra glamorous and cool. They wore designer unis and were pretty and sexy. They served hot dinners with real metal cutlery. Drinks were free. You could smoke. I remember once on an Allegheny flight from Philadelphia to Nashville, a gorgeous young stew dropped something she was going to hand me. She went right across my lap to retrieve it. While she was across my lap, I looked down and her nylons and garter belt were about 6 inches from my face. I nearly died. I'm getting semi-wood thinking about it. We used to sit on the tarmac at Kadena and Bien Hoa just to see the stews on the "Freedom Birds". Once, at Bien Hoa, we started taking mortar and rockets and the stews on a Continental flight were forced to share a bunker with us. Hot Heck!! That was the most fun attack I had ever been through!!! Then came Women's Lib. Fair and equal treatment. A stew could no longer be terminated for being past 30 or having child birth hips. So now you have 50ish and 60ish fat broads, secure in their seniority, smashing your elbows and knees with the big *** stainless steel carts and in some cases telling you it's your fault for sticking them out in the aisle, even though you were just trying to find relief from your 18" of alloted leg room. And that's what I say! |

I also miss when nurses wore form fitting uniforms instead of scrubs. That made a hospital trip worthwhile . . . as a visitor.

slightly sexist mode on
If you are going to sit in a tin can for 2+ hours, why not have something nice to look at? /mode off Flying can be a stressful experience for many, and the presence of pretty women can give a calming effect. |

Hi all,
I have flown a number of times over the years and it always seems to be that it is the State National Carriers such as British Airways who abide by the Equal Opportunities thing. There is no Equal Opportunities on the Fashion Cat Walk...why? I flew with a well known airline recently long haul, and some orange juice spilled from an overhead locker onto my lap. I mentioned this to a stewardess....and she happened to be somewhat attractive She took me to the galley area, curtained the galley off, went down on her knees and sponged off the stain. Now that is what I call service I diverted my thoughts at the time towards the next il2 patch just as anybody else here would have done in my distressing situation.... As a footnote, I was then seated in the empty aisle for cabin staff positioned behind the forward galley. As the aircraft climbed after take off, the defrosted water on top of the galley flowed over me.... Best Regards, MB_Avro. |

Six of one, half dozen of another. We've become quite good at taking things to ludicrous extremes. Some progression is actually not progression at all, rather a diversion to some other kind of idiocy. |

I hate internet abbreviations and avoid using them, but this time I have to say - I really did lol. *********************************************** Female Soviet voice addon at M4T: http://mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=1877 "Nineteen years of age, eight years public education, three years military service. The way I see it, if your overweight unless its a medical problem its your fault. Don't moan about it.
What I do object to is employers discrinating based on looks, Ive read a few mainstream articles now on how looks are more important in the workplace than intelligence/competency. I can totally ****ing believe it as well, having spent a lot of my childhood the but of jokes/being put in middle sets all the time despite having an IQ that was far higher than any of my contempories. That was all sorted with lots of orthodontic contraptions, but this stuff still makes me so angry. I can't hack relationships with most moderately attractive women because they don't know what its like to be/have been on the **** end of the scale. What ****s me off even more is when normal looking people start spouting crap like "Plastic surgery isn't natural, its immoral". The same people also tend to subconciously discriminate against less well off. If they had problems that got jokes and stares aimed at them everyday they'd be considering it. These people make plastic surgery necessary. Sorry for the rant, I'm a recovering misanthrope. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "You can't blow the smoke from such a majestic stogie in just anyone's face. It's not my fault I'm big boned and I have an efficient metabolism dammit
But I do have a desk job, don't exercise and like eating greasy salty foods, and drinking beer. But it must be genetic I am a fat guy who doesn't make excuses; I don't eat an extraordinary amount of food but I am too sedentary for my metabolism and caloric intake, I figure I just need to exercise and hold back a tad. I get annoyed by overweight people who make excuses because I know damned well it's a matter of will and discipline. -------------- HARDWARE -------------- SYSTEM: DELL XPS 600/3ghz P4 HT - VIDEO CARD: nVidia 8600GT/OC/256 - RAM: 2 GB DDR2 4200 - HOTAS : Saitek X52 - PEDALS: CH Pro Pedals USB - OTHER INPUT: Track IR2 - OS: Win XP Pro SP - VOICE COMMAND: Shoot 1.6/VR Commander - COMMUNICATION: Teamspeak 2 R2 - DX Ver: 9c |

Get a roadbike, or a mountainbike depending where you live. You will soon learn to love the feeling of flying along in good weather with the wind in your hair. You'll lose weight in no time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "You can't blow the smoke from such a majestic stogie in just anyone's face.
