Call me a heretic & accuse me of blasphemy, but I just can't get into SOW. I dunno why.

I was just about to post something along those lines. Want to share my tin hat? Smile

Wow, they are impressive! Thumbs Up Some of these screenshots look more like a realistic first person shooter game where one has to sabotage the airfield, and then have to steal a vehicle to get away rather than being a flight sim. Big Grin

With this screenshot, it kind of looks like the beginning of an adventure role playing game where the player has to make their way to either Vanikoro Island in '20,000 Leagues Under the Sea', or 'the island of dr. moreau':

Judging by the quality of the screenshots and the condition of my computer, I think that SoW would prove to be a series of beautifully rendered 'screenshots' that would cruise at a stately 5-10 fps across my monitor. Winky

What is considered midrange nowadays? I have a dual 3.0 GHz, with a Radeon X1900 512mb vidcard and 4mb ram. I also shut down any unnecessary programs to speed up the machine. Would this rig still be considered midrange today, or is it on the low end now? I know that it will be a slow and unusable dinosaur eventually in the great evolution scheme of computerdom. Winky

I love the Spitfire kockpit. The shadows and weathering are great bits of detail and will certainly add to the realism we expect now adays.

What caught my eye is the level of detail Oleg's going for. Who'd notice self shadows on a tower as you fly along at 400 kph, or are busy trying to take off amidst enemy attack. Yet here are self shadows on the interior of the tower.

It was said they were made on a core due 2.6ghx with an 8800gts. Settings level or FPS was not mentioned.

Oh, and there is already this thread so I'm closing this one.
