Nice to see that Cajun and I can agree about something, for a change. I've just reinstalled MSFS 2004 (I needed a break from online dogfighting - I seemed to be getting worse rather than better), and the DC-3 is one of the nicest stock planes on the sim. It is a doddle to fly though I always seem to end up landing with the left wheel almost off the edge of the runway - probably because it actually models torque effects better than most MSFS aircraft. Geting maximum range out of it needs careful control of throttle, mixture etc too.

I believe in real life they take a fair bit of muscle to fly, but otherwise have few vices. There are a few around that have been upgraded to turboprop trimotors - I'll see if I can find a pic...

What plane do we have that is closest to the CF-100?

Being British is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, then grabbing an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab on the way home, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV.

There's a picture of a Three-engined turboprop DC-3 conversion here: not pretty.

Lowe_Flyer, I have been lead astray by someone who keeps giving me links to new FS aircraft. Wink2

And as for what plane is closest to the CF-100, I'd say there are none in IL-2 that look much like it at all. Or are you talking performance wise?

Its hard to explain, basicly, what plane of the IL2 is just like the CF-100 in its time period?

You mean a twin engine WWII all weather interceptor?

You might try the Mosquito or Bf-110. Relatively speaking, the P-38 would be too high performance/maneuverability I would think.

The CF-100 Canuck would maybe be matched by the ME-262. Just a guess tho, seeing the airplane was built/flown in the '50s

Basicly what I am looking for is, a long-range, heavy, bomb-bay equipeted, pocessing advanced avionics, all waether proofness, armor, and at least 1 forward firing gun.

Extra stuff thats not needed but would be nice: Rockets, landing light, trycicle landing gear.

Any ideas?

Get LOMAC, fly an A-10. Wink2

(Actually, if you haven't flown the LOMAC jets, you will probably find the A-10 flies more like the IL-2 aircraft than the others - I'm sure you would enjoy it Owl, and it has all the ordnance you'd want, including a gun that practically cuts tanks in half.)

Lock-on is the worst game ever in my opinion.

Plus, the IL-2 doesn't have the altitude I want.

And it doesn't have very advanced avionics.

Owl, Essentially what you are describing is an IL2.

Armour bathtub.

Sweet cannons + machineguns forward firing

Rear firing defensive gun

Loaded out to the yingyang

Has bay doors

*EDIT*

Or give the TU-2 a look see.
