COD4 sucked in my opinion.
I played OF2 for a couple of hours the other day and it's awesome, but it was a limited experience. Havnt played Arma2, but it looks epic to be honest. |

I got Arma II a while ago, I'm not sure why, I guess I was looking for something different.
I really don't think it's really that great. The main problem is that it just feels buggy and the interface is really clunky. The graphics don't look that great but the game still runs poorly even on my i7 and GTX 260 even if I lower settings. Like if I'm sniping and looking through my scope, it will move around really jerkily and the framerate will drop for no reason then a few seconds later it will be fine. The single player campaign is really poorly made and the objectives don't make much sense and when they do make sense they're frustrating--it's one of those Eastern European-made games where the translations are just not very good. The mission editor is ok but complicated and doesn't make much sense. I've made a couple missions but the AI is stupid, they'll crawl around on their bellies looking like worms and The voice acting is terrible, instead of recording entire phrases they recorded individual words so when a sentence is said it sounds like a phone recording, like "There is an...ENEMY over...THERE..." Basically it could be fun if patched right and maybe with mods, and it could be fun if you play it online--supposedly co-op is fun--but honestly I just found it to be a mess of a game. I'm pretty tired of games made by Eastern European developers, they are generally coded poorly, are buggy, and don't get good support. Il-2 is an exception. ----------------- Farewell to freedom in the Adriatic and to the days of wild abandon. Check out my BRAND NEW campaign, "The Pirate Menace" Also check out my old Air Pirates campaigns! Air Pirates Part One Air Pirates Part Two |

Dragon Rising was, for me, by far the best straight of the box. It worked flawlessly on my machine (Quad 6600, 4GB of RAM, GT9800, Vista) and the game play is great, the interface is great, but the game's on a smaller scale to ARMA II which is not necessarily a game stopper as commanding 4 guys in simulated combat is demanding enough as it is. There are issues, the controller supported is a game pad, no joystick support as yet, and somebody mentioned that the number of 'elements' in any mission is limited to 64. The Mission Editor is, once you get how it works, easy to use and they've included a set of mission templates that have examples of all the scripting so you can learn how to set up complex missions yourself without too much trouble.
