I'm sure a thread like this has been done before, but rather than perform a necromantic rite to bring it back from the dead.. Figgered I'd start a new one..

How many different hobbies do we all have aside from being rabid flight sim junkies?

I dabble in several others.. mainly

Target shooting- No better way to spend a sunny afternoon than putting holes in targets with a good pistol/rifle. I need to get my hands on the dyes to re-load 7.92mm.. Buying non-corrosive ammunition for my K98 is expensive...

R/C- Mostly vehicles. I like aircraft too, however I find that crashing my Nitro powered truck is usually far less expensive than planes. Though my dream is to get the plans for, and scratch build a scale Ju-88.

Fishing- Same reasons for shooting... Relaxing way to spend a day. Brook trout are my favorite prey. Those little buggers can be a challenge.

Mechanics- I've got a 1972 Chevy C-20 that I bought when I was in High School.. Someone will have to rip the keys for that thing out of my cold, dead hands. Money allowing I'm going to start a frame- up rebuild and get it show-worthy.

I also make a hobby out of bugging my wife and joining my 5 year old in silly antics.

So who's next?

Hmm...lemme see...

Haven't been flying in years, still on pre solo so I guess I wouldn't call that a hobby.

Shooting as well, luckily for me one of the most comprehensive shooting ranges in Western Australia is 20 minutes away, so I spend a lot of time there shooting, pistols, my favourite would have to be the S&W .38, my absolute favourite handgun is the Browning HP 9mm, however they're waiting on a part to be shipped in so its currently unavailable. I wanna see about getting my casual membership soon enough, then eventually a full membership and see about getting my own .38. I like to keep my well-shot targets in the back seat of the car in plain sight to deter any would be trouble makers Razz

My other big thing would be motorcycles, was supposed to have my first lesson today but it got cancelled because of a complete washout Frown
Would like to get into mechanics as well, would be nice to be able to service my own bike.

You can have no idea just how hostile aircraft can be until they come to your area...
Aircraft which strafe or bomb your positions should be regarded with suspicion, if not deep mistrust. Aircraft which bomb and strafe your position and wear a red circle should certainly be regarded with deep mistrust. In fact, the deeper the better. A six-foot-deep slit trench is an ideal place from which to mistrust them...

Riding motorcycles is my main hobby. I ride my bike every day that weather permits. I am going on a big benefit ride tomorrow. Cool

I also love to fish. When we're not fishing, we just enjoy our boat and the lake.

I used to do the mechanic thing, but arthritis and tendonitis in my hands, wrists and shoulders has pretty much put a stop to that. I turned wrenches for way too many years. Now I only work on my stuff when it breaks.

Fishing- Largemouth+smallmouth bass, muskie, and pike are usually what I fish for. Sometimes I try for walleye or panfish too.

Birdwatching- for some reason observing birds and other wildlife is entertaining to me. also a good excuse to spend some time outdoors.

Working on cars- i tore apart and restored a dodge challenger a few years back. didn't do a very good job though due to a shortage of time and money. had to sell it so i could afford grad school.

Building model airplanes and cars- not so much anymore because I built so many I was running out of space for them

Playing guitar and bass- mostly rock, metal, punk. I'm terrible though because I don't take it very seriously

Ah, the good old SCA- I used to participate in heavy combat.. But I have not had the time for it so I sold off all of my armor. Some day when things aren't so hectic and I have some mad money I might get back in to it.. Go out of period and do a Roman or Greek kit for the heck of it.

I was a Westie- Cynaguan to be exact back when I was active and playing.

I also used to run a website dedicated to 14th Century research, spent hours and hours in libraries reading and taking notes. I think the Netsword website still has a link to my page, although it's completely defunct.

Do you ever frequent www.armourarchive.org ?

Hunting/Target Shooting-

Nothing like sitting in trees at the end of November in the cold wating for a deer to show itsself. Also like taking the .17 and my Finnish Mosin out to send some rounds down range.

Reading, Home remodeling, and Fishing are a few of the others

I was a light fighter in Trimaris, since I moved to meridies there's not much fencing so I'm considering heavy combat but don't really care for the local shire so haven't played much. All my contacts and people I played with are still in trimaris, I may go back one day....
