This is from a squadron mission a couple years back. Spits covering Mossies. This Spit flew right over the Mossie, not seeing him and nearly collided. This photo was passed around the squadron as a joke.

Lol, I used to have a custom skin for the P-38 that had "if you can read this, SHOOT already!" written on the top side of the horizontal stabilizer. On the bottom it said "Eat my prop wash!", lol. No picture, but once I ditched an IL-2 in a river (no elevators or rudder), and upon ejecting the pilot and gunner popped up and ran across the surface of the water towards the riverbank. Unfortunately they were not moving quick enough and sank before reaching the riverbank  . At the time it looked pretty silly and we all had a good laugh (everyone was watching to see if I survived). |
