Honestly? I'm spending a lot more time maintaining and expanding my Roman Empire with the Roma Surrectum mod for Rome Total War. The Broken Crescent mod for MTW also gets the LF seal of approval.

If I fly at all lately, it's a very quick fix with a vintage aeroplane in FS9. Still actively adding to Il2 with things we can't mention, and really looking forward to works in progress - one of them close to my heart, bet you can't guess what twin-engined, cannon-armed single-seat British fighter that one is. Tongue

But no, Il2 doesn't take up much of my time at all, lately. I'll probably o/d on total war and come back to it one day. Until then, I'll treat this forum like a virtual pub, where I'll pop in and chat with like-minded people about the more important things in life - like babes and beer.

I see LowFlyer. Granted, I was a bit suspicious when the thing we won't mention here first came out, but seems there's loads of good things happening with it too... see, I do LURK even when I'm not flying Tongue

But yeah, SH3/4 is a hoot. A totally different (and hair-raising) environment for someone who's never played a subsim in his life!

Will probably get back to auld Sturmo later on, though. My ex-CO keeps on pestering me for having been AWOL for the last half year or so y'see Tongue

S! & keep the sunny side up m8.

Nope. Not active in the computer realm of flying. Just an UBI browser to kill a few spare moments, otherwise too many other things going on.

However, I just got back from a trip to Tulsa, OK visiting my grandpa. We spent a couple of hours going though his old log books, etc. He told me a few good stories. Non-combat, but still good stories. Happy

Spending time listening to him has got me wanting to try the sim again. Once I get the desktop PC free at the house in a few more days, I'll pull out the pedals & stick and give it another go. Blink

Been about 10 days, have a go in the next day or so. Also fiddling with 2nd Manassas and reading books, setting up the studio, working like a hive of bees. Mostly this is, LF style, a virtual pub for chin wags and so on, I run down the GD board to check there's nothing I missed the previous 4 times they were rehashed before coming in here and shooting the ****.

Well I`m going mad on the arty-farty side, but still fly IL2. You could check out the UBI-ZOO CO OP on Fridays. Are we still doing that? has it been scuppered?

I also like a spot of MTW2 warfare.

Daily for at least 30 minutes, longer if I have some free time in the evening or weekends. I'll play a QMB mission or a single mission that doesn't require a boatload of travel, and blow **** up for a bit before going to work.

I haven't really played anything else lately. I might fire up LOMAC for a bit, the other night I reinstalled FSX so I could try the Beaufighter add-on, but the majority of my game time is IL-2.

Cheers guys Smile

Yep, gotta check the Zoo co-op out sometime. Sounds like fun, although with the summertime blues going ATM and everything - the boss is on vacation so I'm carrying the whole lot on my back for awhile now Mad - it will prolly take me a couple of weeks or so until I'm not dead tired every Friday... but still, gotta recruit that aforementioned CO of mine plus a couple of old flying mates as well, and we'll hook up with you guys as a mean ground-pounder gang at some point Demonic

S!

PS. Not sure if "mean" is actually a good description of my combat abilities ATM since I haven't flown at all during the last half a year or so. But whadda heck, I can always try my hand in killing my adversaries with laughter should all else fail Tongue

I still play IL-2 a few hours a week. I've been spending most of my gaming time playing Silent Hunter 3 and 4 though. Also playing some GTR2 and GT Legends when I feel like crashing into a few walls.

Have not played IL2 much since I got a new computer.. Have it installed just not patched up, nor have I re-mapped all of my controls etc...

Been playing a lot of FSX- Sometimes I just prefer a nice lazy flight in an An-2, as opposed to bullets and mayhem.

Rome: Total Realism (the RTW mod I have) also gets a lot of my play time- and Bioshock.

Plus my nerdy side has me playing Age of Conan :P

Hey guys, what do you think of Stalker the game BTW? I've read the original book several times now, and IMO it's one of the best scifis ever written. So how's the game - any experiences and/or opinions, ladies and gents?

It is amazing.
Recently I have started it again ( this time with the exquisite "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Oblibion Lost" Mod ) and it drew me in again ( for the third time now ).
The atmosphere could be cut with a knife - the AI is intelligent, the world is unique and more dynamic then in the dedicated RPGs ( Oblivion, Gothic III ).
In addition in certain areas you get more scares and thrill then in some of the dedicated "scare-shooters" like FEAR, Doom 3 or Bioshock.

It is hands down one of the most extraordinary shooters I've ever played - it feels like an RPG really, especialy with "Oblivion Lost".

The graphics are top notch aswell - given you have the PC to max it.

All in all I can only recommend to give it a close look.
