Heck of a find and yeah, I agree, Dragon.

The Dragon may be Tube launched, Wire Guided and all that, but make no mistake, the Dragon is not a TOW. They are two very different systems. The TOW missile is much more powerful, much faster and has a greater range. I doubt this is classified anymore as the TOW is no longer the best antitank weapon the US has. It can travel 3,750 meters in about 13 seconds, about the same time it takes a Dragon to cover 1,000 meters. -PC Performance Aficionado and proud forum member since 2001 |

I think he ment it as a generic term Tube-launched, Optically-tracked, Wire-guided
Like the Milan and swingfire I read that Dragon crews were expected to have had a high casualty rate if the cold war had got hot not nice Si vis pacem para bellum |

Yeah, it's true, and I didn't feel that great knowing about how quick I was going to die. The biggest reason is for the Dragon's limited range, well within effective firing range of ALL enemy tanks. The missile traveled slowly as well, giving the tank crew ample time to kill you once they saw the backblast. The TOW was so much better in these instances. It's maximum range was outside of the effective firing range of ALL enemy tanks at the time and could travel the to the maximum effective range so much faster than the Dragon. -PC Performance Aficionado and proud forum member since 2001 |
