I used to be acquainted with Mick Taylor, who replaced Brian Jones and was eventually replaced by Ron Wood. Mick left because he found the constant hedonism too much, and because his creativity was being stifled. And therein lies the problem I think - just how long is a rock-and-roll lifestyle worth keeping up? Maybe if they all got straight for a while they would realise that they were played out by 1985. I'd have thought the "street fighting man" might have twigged what was happening when he got knighted by the Queen
