No they weren't. Having to plug an external audio cassette player into a BBC micro to load software, or typing in endless lines of code from a computer magazine - THOSE were the days. Kids today they don't know how lucky they are.

If you look hard enough - You'll still find some industries usung the last version of DOS (V6.25 I think it was), and this is mainly for one reason only --- It's literally unbreakable.
OS stability-wise This was Bill's best, sadly since then MS-OSs has been incredibly buggy.

there are thousands free games for dosbox

i consider it an usefull skill therefore

He'd better be careful though. I heard that mothers automatically know when their sons have been buzzing off. I have heard rumors that it has something to do with telepathy, but I really think it has more to do with mom having to do the laundry.
