LF, I've got that Stirling in my build pile, too. Trying to clear off a space on the bench for it. Someday...

Here some shots of my finische Hotchkiss H-39 with crew. I used a picture frame as base for that scenery, it's named "vitesse et désordre" and should point to the unpainted tankette witch was rushed into combat but its crew seems not has it that hasty.

Signed up. Thumbs Up

Off to the local shop tomorrow with pay packet. Intend to get Stirling, but am a bit impulsive when something takes my fancy. Smile

Love that tank, Mr Kimura! Thumbs Up

Just signed up Buglord. That Panther is such a beauty! Heart Great work mate.

A speck of dirt on your windscreen could turn into an enemy fighter in the time it took to look round and back again. A little smear on your goggles might hide the plane that was coming in to kill you.

Your figure painting is just amazing Kimura! I have so much trouble with small scale figures. After seeing yours I think I might do a little research and have another go at it. I have two pilots I'd like to get painted.

Back from the shop....LF's winter projects.

Two items at the back I just couldn't resist. Glomp

The RAF vehicles and control tower should look nice on the shelves scattered amongst the Corgi collection.

Had a quick peek and the Stirling is in remarkably good condition considering its' age. Whirly's had a retool apparently - looks good to me, but what do I know?

Picked up a Badger airbrush too - thought I'd finally give one a go. I daresay I'll take to it and upgrade later. I fear this aeroplane business is a much tighter discipline than base-coating a tank and dirtying it up.

Off to light the candles in my Whirly shrine now. That'll be a major dithering exercise - what colours to do second one...hmmmmmm.... Blink

That Whirly is a great fitting kit, if a little sparse on the internal details. I loved building mine.

Yep - looks a nice build. Glad to have it confirmed. Thumbs Up

Plan is to match in with Corgi diecast collection. I'll probably get carried away weathering.

I'm itching to get at it - seriously considered putting off a night out tonight. I need help. Sad Eyes

If my memory serves correctly (a very big if....), the Airfix Stirling comes with a tractor and bomb trollies, L_F. Have a look-see, just to confirm that I've not finally gone ga-ga.

Definitely a model to display wheels-down, and the obvious centre-piece for your vehicles, I'd have thought, though you'll need a large base to put them all on.

I'm tempted to get myself a Whirlwind kit, and do a little customisation on it. Wink2

Yep - bomb trolley train was a deciding factor. Checked - all there Thumbs Up And you're right about that tall undercart, known to swallow unwary mechanics whole, fatally.

Quite a few figures in the vehicle and tower kits too - in nice 'hard' placcy! - was thinking about getting the soft RAF personnel set and basing them on pennies. It's actually cheaper than buying curtain weights or washers, I remember from my wargaming days.

Much research ahead on proper colours for vehicles - Airfix suggest 1960's schemes or 'Ice Cold In Alex' ambulance. Any pics to hand, gents?

And just remember to glue the wings on the right way round, you sacreligious reprobate! Tongue

Thanks for the flowers. I have to admit that I'm a noob on figure painting. These 2 french tankists are the 2nd and 3rd figure I've ever painted. I hope the next ones - 2 british tankist for Matilda get even better. Big Grin

Here an early shot of my actuall project.
