I just saw this on the news. That balloon is traveling FAST.

I have a 4.5 yr old, my heart is in my throat... I hope the little guy will be ok...

Another story I read on this a little while ago said that an older sibling was the only one who saw the 6yr old go in, it's possible the boy was never in the balloon. Hopefully this is some sort of misguided prank by the kids and the boy is hiding somewhere. There's another possibility that falls to mind but I hope this is not the case, we've all seen tragic stories where young children do very evil things, it's possible this older sibling did something untoward to the little boy and let the balloon go as a cover story.....

I sure hope the tyke is hiding somewhere around his house as a kid prank, the alternative is something Id rather not think about in regards to a child of 6.

Apparently it landed, no kid inside. Ground search has started.

It was way smaller than I thought, and seeing the way it behaved, a 50-60lbs kid aboard would have caused it to fly much differently.

Some rumor that something fell from it, but unconfirmed, and just speculation at this point.

MSNBC and CNN are giving conflicting info, MSNBC says the basket/box was not at the crash seen so they suspect it may have come detached in flight, while CNN has a quote of the police spokeswoman saying the box was intact and not breached so they think the kid is hiding somewhere.

It occurs to me, how does a six year old climb into a box and close the door, while at the same time untying a rope(s) tied tightly enough to hold down a balloon with enough helium in it to lift a 6yr old 1000's of ft.? I'm leaning towards prank and the kid is hiding scared.

Who knows. Anythings possible.

I hate these breaking stories, the news agencies post all kinds of crap before they know for sure, now CNN is saying the box was not at the crash scene but still say:

"At this point, we are thinking that he did not fall out of the balloon and is somewhere on the ground," Larimer County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Eloise Campanella said. "The basket itself was not breached. It does not look like he fell out of it, but again, this is all conjecture."
