My father just got this for his birthday. My sister sent it to him figuring it might entertain him during his retirement days. She also sent him the 'real' R/C helicopter.
I set the computer simulator up for him just the other day. The controls are very twitchy, but if you calibrate the R/C controller it's not bad. The difficulty of the twitchy controls becomes evident when you 'lean' the helicopter in any one direction. CAREFULLY applying enough throttle so you maintain a certain height while changing attitude is a steep exercise in patience.
For the price it's not a terrible set up. It certainly serves the purpose of learning your left from your right while the craft is coming toward you.
Deflect the radio stick in the same direction of down wing. So if the plane is facing you and the left wing (facing you) is lower push the R/C's aileron stick to the left.
For some reason that was always easier than trying to turn around and look over my shoulder.
