well 3 things
1 this is the original ghost recon forum, try the garw section
2 the 5700 was not supported by graw1, and won't be by graw2 because of not having hdr capabilities, however you can tweak your game in such way it leaves out the HDR functions and alowes you to play, but just barely....
getting a geforce card in GS variant is not a good option, if you have an AGP slot the 7800 GS is about the best you can get, but I recon you better upgrade the whole system.
If you have any further questions feel free to ask, Good luck

Your RAM value is low. I would upgrade your RAM memory to 2 Gb

the processor should be sufficient for this game but a lot of games won't play with that processor anymore for to long.

So I would buy a new pc since that is mutch cheaper.

For example buy this:

E6600 processor
2 Gb RAM (DDR2 800 MHz) (or 4 Gb if you have a little bit of cash reserve)
a Striker Mainbord (Asus)
a 8800 GTX graphic card. (768 Mb video memory edition) or a cheaper version of that card (640 Mb or 320 Mb version)

Windows Vista 64 bit editon (Home Premium or Ultimate)

I know where it is. It's at the Baltic Sea, west of Russia. (i live in the Netherlands, even a smaller country west of Germany)

lets see if i have a couple of examples of good pc's for you

http://configure2.euro.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?b...926&rbc=D07926&s=dhs

If you buy a pc with a configuration like this pc has, you should be able to game on for the next 2-3 years i suppose (eventually you may need to upgrade your ammount of RAM memory but thats is)

I am certain that it is possible to play GRAW 2 on that pc.

And, more importantly I guess, that pc should be able to play the next generation off games, without having a performance penalty.

The system you found has a few advantages for the future:

- You can add RAM memory if needed, since the motherboard supports DDR2 RAM @ 667 MHz, 800 MHz and i suppose eventually even 1066 MHz (when it is commercial available)
- You have a PCI videocard connection, so you can replace the graphic processor if it is neccesarry, since all new generation cards will be PCI connected only
- You can easily replace the processor if neccesarry. But it is also possible to overclock the CPU very easily by about 15-20% (watch cooling and temperature carfully!)

Translating the text on that site wasn't needed, since I could find out the most important specs by looking at the text.

I would buy the 1st computer link you posted here. The 8600 graphic card of Nvidia is a DX 10 card, while the second pc has a X1950 card in it of ATI, which is a DX 9 card.

It is the best at this time to buy a DX 10 graphic card because you will be facing hardware problems and/or software problems with new games, since the most new games coming out in this year and 2008 will be DX 10 (or even worse DX 10 only so you will be forced to buy a DX 10 card)

You probably have fog emulation unchecked, thinking that it would eliminate fog ingame. But you are wrong. Check it and your graphics should work.

I personly love 22" widescreens (Samsung), since that screen has HD videocapability and you have a excellent view in games.

But a normal 19" screen TFT wil do very good as well. Remember that a monitor doesn't become old very soon so you can spend more money on it.

Things you need to look at when buying a monitor are:

*Responsetime (less thant 20 millisecond (ms))
* Brightness of the screen
* The ammount of pixels (in other words the resolution of the screen since a tft screen don't has a beamer in it to change the resolution in games without loosing video quality)

(Hoi Vincent)
I know were lithuania is too..lol
That first system will do the trick.
the geforce 8600 GT is quite good, not the best off course but counting on budget it is a good value for money

On the monitor side, I have a Benq 19" they are not expensive and good, but so is a samsung.....
19" is good enough to play the game, with a resolution of 1280x1024 and the graphic card you will do just fine.
see you online (p.s. I reside in the KFORF server most of the time)

I have a lovely machine here so I don't need to upgrade my pc. I only have to wait till my graphic card is supported.

I have this machine:

Q6600 quad core processor (4*2.4 GHz)
4096 MB DDR 2 Memory (@800 MHz)
8800 GTX graphic card with 768 MB video memory.....

and

Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit Netherlands Edition.

I have a white screen while playing GRAW 2 so i hope Nvidia does here homework and make me some fine drivers.

(off course GRAW 2 may be patched as well because I saw some horrible things on another pc at a friend of my while playing GRAW 2

haha I was saying Hi to you but my reaction was for the Lithuanian guy.
I have the 8800 GTS 320 MB OC and that does its job very well. though I'm sad I can't get detail on high (which is allowed in GRAW1!)
And I stick with XP for the time being, when after 1/2 years all bugs are gone i'll go for the oem version with a harddrive or something else.
