But i cant join any games on multiplayer it says

then it says u need the following mods and stuff
and every COOP map needs desert siege and island thunder -_-

If you only have GR1 without any mods or any add ons like desert seige or iland thunder you will only be able to play the original game only, most people playing will not be doing this.

You really need to read through these forums, on how the game is set up and mods for it.

ill go buy them both

Yes, the Gold Edition comes with DS and IT. Mods can be downloaded through GR.net.

Ask your "friend" for your money back and if you have a brother that likes to play video games, give him Ghost Recon while you keep the Gold Edition.

Err... if u have the ghost recon gold edition which comes with the 3 disk(island thunder, desert seige and the Game of the year) must u install all 3 disc so that u can play all missions in the 3 games?

If you have the Ghost Recon Gold Edition (has 2 disks) you have to install the contents of both disks to play all the missions. GR is on the first disk and DS and IT are on the second disk. If you do not install the second disk, you will not be able to play the DS and IT missions. Once installed, make sure you go to the Mods tab in the Options menu to activate DS and IT.

I just bought GR Gold DVD edition because my IT disk got scratched! It only came on ONE DVD of course. Everything was on it including the patches.

Anyhow, install GR, DS, IT, then Patch 1.3, then 1.4 and that should be it (although mine didn't even have to install 1.3 patch. It says you already have an updated version after I installed IT), but that's the basic orer you should install. Oh, and activate the expansion packs in the MOD tabs like WhiteKnight said.

I'm going through the missions again...I miss playing this game so much. I just wish they would just upgrade the graphics and AI and keep every else the same. Actually, I doin't even care if they don't upgrade the AI just do the graphics a bit.
