yes when I install the very first GR it give me an error message say "Sorry, Must live in the US to play this title.and i made sure i live in the usa and i do. can anyone help me??

It appears that if you didn't install GR over the US Labor Day weekend, you will most likely be unable to install it until Ubi decides to have another promotion.

What if u wanna install it after a crash of windows,if u format your pc lol,wait for the next labor day?!

i downloaded it was fileshack then it said u must live in U.S. then i bought the game cause of no replys on this on my other thread, i bought the game and tryed then LOOK!... omfg so gay!.....

If you are having a problem removing Ghost Recon so you can reinstall it, try this and see if it helps:


From the Start Menu, click Run and type in "regedit" (without the quotes) then left click "OK".

Following the next set of instructions requires you to left-click the "+" sign to the right of the proceeding directories to expand them:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Red Storm Entertainment (right-click on the folder Ghost Recon, left-click "delete" and accept the removal message)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Windows -> Current Version -> App Paths (right-click on the folder GhostRecon.exe, left-click "delete" and accept the removal message)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion -> Uninstall (right-click on the folder that starts.. {D89EF3B3-.. }, left-click "delete" and accept the removal message)

Close the Registry Editor and reinstall Ghost Recon, then any expansion packs (if applicable). Finally, download the Ghost Recon patch 1.3 and 1.4. Install the 1.3 patch then the 1.4.

If GR is saying that you live in the US, you have a registry entry that is from the free version Ubi issued over the US Labor Day weekend. That entry along with every other RSE and Ghost Recon registry entry needs to be removed. Follow the instructions on the page I linked to or the very same ones Colin posted here. Then install GR and the second disk if you bought the Ghost Recon Gold Edition.

Well it seems my friend ripped me off saying he bought this game at walmart. and it was only a download from fileshack or w/e and burned to a desk with a cover of ghost recon, i have bought it just now from walmart my self!... and it is installing.... Thanks for all your help and remember u cant allways trust friends.... thats why i checked out the CD with my Best Friend and 2 others, that had ghost recon and the install looked different Thanks again
