same here, I can't log into the online to save my f-ing life

plus every 45 seconds or so the game complete locks up for about 15 seconds, and then continues like nothing happened. Interesting enough I was watching my CPU chart while this was going on, and it's not my system, Hawx just simply stops processing for a bit.

Thought maybe it was my install, so I wiped it out and started with a clean slate, fresh install, fresh drivers, fresh install of Hawx, same problem.

My System:
AMD Phenom 9750
6GB RAM
ATI Radeon 9850 x 3 (Crossfire) [1GB / card]
Windows 7 RC1 x64

(The only thing I can see similar between me and jh_101, is the x64 OS. But I have a friend who has nearly the same system as me (different video cards only) and he runs it just fine.

So after doing some more research I found some more users with this issue. If you unplug your network cable before launching the game you can play it without the lockups. However, you can't plug in the network cable until you're done playing, the game will start having issues as soon as you get a connection.

I'll keep working on this to see if I can come up with a work-around or find the reason behind all of this. Obviously this doesn't happen to everyone, and my buddy has the same exact motherboard with the same NIC, same drivers, he does not have this issue. I'll check into network configurations and possibly firewall/security settings that may be causing issues.

This may or may not be causing the problem you guys are running into, but if you guys are using a router make sure the port numbers are open. The port numbers can be found below. Also, make sure you have your firewall(s) turned off if you use one too.

Tom Clancy's HAWX, when played behind a home router or a firewall, may require special configuration to work properly.

An easy way to make HAWX work behind your router is to setup your gaming PC in the DMZ. To learn about how to setup your gaming PC in the DMZ, check your router’s documentation.

If you don't want to set your gaming PC in the DMZ, then you'll have to do some special configuration to your router or firewall (open ports) to make sure all the game’s features work properly.

Here are the ports you'll have to open, or forward:

LAN

TCP
7788

UDP
7789-7790
7589 for session discovery

ONLINE

TCP
3074-3174 - outbound
3155 - outbound
3163 - outbound

UDP
1001,7788 - inbound/outbound
3074-3174 - inbound / outbound (at least one in this range, preferably 3074)

Well considering that I work on computers/networks/servers all day long, I like to think I know how to setup my own network. But I'm also very aware that the most common issues for someone who knows what they are doing is to assume you didn't make a mistake. So I double checked and triple checked my settings and everything is good. Then I came across this on the AMD/ATI forums.

http://forums.amd.com/game/mes..._key=y&keyword1=HAWX

"Open the file C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\HOSTS with notepad, at bottom cut and paste the following in, and save it, then restart the game:

127.0.0.1 216.98.48.53
127.0.0.1 216.98.48.18
127.0.0.1 216.98.48.57

HOSTS file can be READ-ONLY, before you start to edit the HOSTS file, the attributes must first be changed, right click the file, select properties, and un-tick the Read Only box, and click OK.

Looks like Ubisofts servers are causing this problem hence the need to block them in the hosts file."

I hope others find this helpful as well.
