I'm still only a small way into the game. I'm on the planet. I have moved the wire in my way. And I've looked into that red glowing thing and zoomed in on to 3 glowing shapes. But now what do I do???

Hi teener and welcome to the Myst 5 forums.

Once you have cleared the wires out of the pathway, climp all the way to the top and use the big telescope to find the first set of coordinates.

With the same telescope you have to find a slate symbol(that will unable you to link to another island with a second telescope) but it is going to be a hard job because the view is blocked by something.
You will have to find a way to clear the view from/through the Planetarium.(You will have to move something a little bit).

I did find 3 shapes in the red lit telescope, and tryed to draw it on the slate. Is this part of what I'm to do?
And so there is ANOTHER shape to find.. hummm...

Symbols found on a pedestal to be drawn on a slate and coordinates to be entered on viewers inside the Red Room are two different things.

Those coordinates are used to point the telescopes in the good specific directions.

As for the symbol you seem to be talking about, I would say yes, you need it to be able to link to another island.

The last symbol to be found in Todelmer, for drawing on the slate will show up on a viewer in the Red room with the help from the Bahro. (Virtual Time Travel ).
