Well, I'm sure that many of you Driver fans that have been around here for a while may remember Ubi saying that they would hire 1,000 UK developers but only if there was a tax break,

Well, follow this link to see what the UK government is planning for the British games industry!

heres the link!:

Yes, finally some good news for our troubled game developers, I can't see how this wouldn't be good news!

More people allow more details to be added, while focusing attention on making the game worthwhile. Now they just need to keep focused on adding a ton of replay value so the game doesn't go stale a month after buying it. Take Fallout 3 for example, which I still replay 8 months later thanks to all the constant maintenance to keep your gear intact. Instead, we'd be keeping our vehicles intact when parts begin to break down after time and extended use, like a real car or motorcycle.

--------------
Next Driver: Interior DASH view, Free Roam TAG MODE chases, Miles of Backroads, Intense Speed-Edge of your seat Action, MAJOR Crash Impacts, day/night cycle, tons of customizable options, lots of stunts, ON FOOT in FPS view/overthe shoulder RE4 style, sportbikes, more car camera views, "Drop a RAMP" Cheat, fun vehicle chases where THE CAR is the Weapon, not a gun...

I agree with everything bar the last bit;

I like my games to stay pick up and play, without having to worry about servicing our vehicles. I think the best way to extend the life of this game would be to add some mini-games and some multilayer support, mainly split screen for entertaining as all I play with friends at the moment is FIFA Football. Driver 2 nailed this to a T, if a little colourless, so if it is fun then its perfect!

Gimme a break. Do you actually think it's the lack of Devs that make Ubi's games suck? It's the suits Dude. Get it done and on the shelves, now. We'll look into whether it's fixable later. Do you realize that Parallel Lines was scrapped after it's release? Ubi makes no mention of the game anywhere. And if you call for support they will offer you another game to replace it. They know they released an outline. There really was not one single enjoyable aspect of Parallel Lines for PC. Not one. Just another crap port to get our cash. They had so many complaints that most shops took it off the shelves because it wouldn't run. That came from our three big stores. I finally found it at Big Lot's and I may take it back. Kinda embarassed to go get my $6. usd though.

Yes, that's the sad truth. In mainstream media, whether it's cinema, video games, or music, there isn't much to find in terms of innovation or artistic expression. It has become far too greedy and corrupted over several decades, such that it is riddled with so much mindless violence and sexual content.

It's funny because before the 60s (when the Sexual Revolution began), so many people worried and cared a lot about morals in society that nearly every film and TV show was targeting everyone, not certain demographics. They were so much more focused on the most important aspects of storytelling, unlike those of today, which are mainly created for profit means.

And, with the Driver franchise, Ubisoft Reflections has been very greedy since D3, which was overhyped in trying to beat GTA at its own game.

Quite frankly, none of that matters to me anymore. Only seeing compelling, appropriate storytelling devices will satisfy me.

I have long and gone with mainstream media, especially when it comes to its business cycle. Now, I am more than willing to focus on the independent side, which is far more creative, even if it's way less profitable (80% of the video games published don't make a profit).

Well I guess I agree with you on the parts I understand. But my main point was that the cars in this game were meant to be controlled with a mouse and keyboard. So they should do just that. If one single gamer was asked to play this game before the game was released. They would have known that the controls were way to twitchy- in and out of the vehicles. So much so that the game is unplayable.

And I made a mistake in my earlier post as it pertains to Ubisoft. They do not go back and fix their games after the fact. They are the worst offenders of any in this regard. Even worse than EA, and that's pretty bad. These big two companies just don't seem to care what we think, or what we want for that matter. The trend is that the Devs are witing games they never intend to play. They are Box Gamers at best and have no knowledge of how a PC game runs. I come to this conclusion after wasteing my money over and over again on these crap ports that just bring frustration rather than entertainment. At this point I'm just about removed from the main stream games. Unless I get them for a song. And as far as Ubisoft and EA, I just try to stay away from their stuff period. No more buying without playing first.
