ADJUSTABLE WEIGHT OF VEHICLES = BETTER CRASHES
I'd like the cars to be lighter when flipping over sideways, just for the sake of extending the flips. An option to adjust it of course, where if you set it to "lighter weight", you could reach a high speed, suddenly jack the wheel hard right and instantly your car will flip under the momentum, side over side, pieces flying through the air. Those are some of Driver's greatest moments, but rarely do the last long enough.

(I might have this backwards, where the heavier a car is, the longer it will take to stop flipping). (?)

I would like the abillity to change the vehicles weight, maybe by giving you the abillity to change the vehicles materials from something like aluminion to carbon fibre for example, although Carbon fibre would cost more
(being light weight would be beneficial to speed but as you said it would be easier to flip which would make some missions more difficult so that would be good to make you decide whether a light weight car would be better for your mission or a car that would get you around he corners easier being heavy)

As long as we have real-time damage this time, I'm sold. An option for how realistic it should be would be nice, since it could get annoying in missions totaling your car every time you hit someone head on.

And I would love a debug mode where we could change the values of weight, strength, gravity, friction, bounciness, aerodynamics, power, etc.

A car creator would be uber cool, hard to make, I don't expect one, but it would be awesome. I'm thinking of shaping the metal much like you shape the earth in Far Cry 2, share them online!

That Is just way too unrealistic...

it would take the team way too long to develop a game which pretty much changes from gran turismo to GTA with a few clicks...

They need to stick to the Drivers way of driving and damage...

too much realism would just ruin the game,

whats the point in adding you the abillity to change the gravity levels if you want it to be more realistic?... it just doesn't make any sence at all...

Excuse me for having some imagination.

First off, Gran Turismo sucks, I would never want Driver to be like that game.

Secondly, Driver is a heavily physics based game, and they seem pretty spot on, so changing constants like those would be cool to see how the game would play out.

And once again, maybe I should put this in my sig already, YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE IT! So get over it, you can play the game as boring as you want. I for one love messing around with cheat codes that can be mixed for different results.

The only place realism belongs is in the physics, and sometimes that needs to be exaggerated. Outside of that the team needs to be creative with gameplay options.

I'd like to see the ability to be any pedestrian, and play the entire game with any identity you prefer, so the visuals of on foot don't get old seeing the same back of the head, shirt and pants over and over.

That's one great thing about DPL's "Body snatcher" cheat.

I would like more ways in which you can modify your vehicle in your garage

(Such as the abillity to purchase neons in multicolours - and the abillity to buy body kits without being forced to have the vinyls which come with them... like in D:PL)

LOCATION BOOKMARKS to save and warp to your favorite starting locations. TDU allows the option, and it's great when you don't have time to spend driving from a single starting point every game to someplace you like. Just press the map, select the bookmark and you're there. (Even if the map can't compare in size to TDU).

So now when you start the game, it's not from the same spot every time.

I think we should be able to do aerobics in the game. You would walk into an aerobic class, step up to those little step thingy's, then a button combo system similar to dance dance revolution would begin, and you'd have to press those combos.

The more you do aerobics, the better shape Tanner/TK is in, and they can run faster and jump higher.

Then I most definetly want different game from yours.

The place where Driver can, and must IMO, shine is realism. Almost as realistic as possible, Driver has always been. Random options and junk usually take away from the core of a game. And random isn't the same as well thought and implemented option or feature.

I think that 'J' is in the wrong forums!!

If he wants ideas like them then he seriously needs to research how video games are developed

its not just as simple as saying, I want this in the game and it'll be there

Things take time and money, which could possibly lead to a game that would be outdated by the time they would of managed to incorporate those features, and then the gam would just be another failure, and if this next Driver title is another failure then I wouldn't be surprised if most of the Driver fan just give up on the whole gam series completely...

I'm in!

It's really weak how Driver is now a salad table of random things, but nothing is revolutionary or stable.

Halo1 kept it simple. Menus, gamemodes, graphics, controls, AI, useables, levels, audio, story, multiplayer. And it still is one of the most known games.

Like in other thread, there are around 5 things that must be done for any additional features to be of any use.

Actually, J (Matt_John, who's been part of the Driver forums for years)Frumpleberg has been against all that extra junk (like eating hamburgers and other GTA pointless stuff for a long time) from being in the Driver games. I'm almost 100% sure he was just joking around about an exercise timed game.

WishList: If they decide to add guns, I want the option to keep the chases 100% GUN FREE, so the car chase takes the spotlight again, like in Driver 1 and 2, the two best games in the series, despite part 2's crawling framerate. DPL was good in a lot of ways, but the cops couldn't compete and the guns disabled the entire point of 'the car chase'.

I absolutely hated cops being able to shoot you, particularly in driv3r where cops are everywhere on foot shooting at you.

I think it would be nice to have an option to disable/enable the cops ability to shoot at you.

I personally think it's alright if they shot you via. their vehicles/helicopter only when you've committed a very large amount of crimes.

Insane Driver is correct.

Obviously all these ideas won't make it in the game, thats what sequels are for. Just something for Reflections to think about, if they like the idea, they can keep it in mind for future games if it involves too much coding.

I mean, somebodies gotta make conversation around here, cause this place is pretty dead, and theres not a whole lot to talk about in past games, especially since I can't upload replays.

I seem to remember a few months ago when I came back to the forums, saying all I want is the next game to be good. Then I was hounded for being pessimistic. Now this time I came back and started actually putting something substantial ideas on, and you're all screaming and saying keep it simple. Who's the pessimist now?

Agreed about cops not shooting your car.

What's more fun during a high speed chase, shooting a cop's car out of commission with an uzi so he slows to a stop, or ramming him into an oncoming building, or off the side of a cliff? Debatable, but since Driver is about cars first, why ruin a good chase with bullets?

Nothing spoils a great car chase better than a set of flat tires. Difficult steering and slowing down doesn't make the game more fun.

It's rare you'll ever see cops shooting during a freeway getaway, like the ones filmed from a news helicopter. Spike strips and gas pellets are another thing.

Yeah, at first I thought it was cool how tires could deflate and fall off completely, it always made me think of an old Snoop + Dre song "we gon' rock it til the wheels fall off," but eventually I realised it kinda sucked.

If the wheels are gonna fall off, it should only happen when the cars totaled, cause I still think it looks cool.

Sometimes it is fun to drive with flats, maybe you're the only person who can shoot out tires? I always enjoy shooting other peoples tires and watch them try to drive (funnier in GTA)

Although the drive-by shooting rarely came in handy, it was still fun to do. I did not like the miniscule range of motion, you have to drive towards the object you're trying to shoot, and to get off a good number of shots you end up ramming them. Come on, one thing Rockstar did steal was the look right/left/back button configuration, if you're gonna do drive-by's at least give us 4 directions, if not 360 degrees.

The good thing about DPL was bullet proof tires to earn.

Wishlist: Have a cheat where you can be a pigeon in the game and fly anywhere you want. It has nothing to do with Driver, since it's a cheat, and is just as good as flying.

I like the flat tires. The only problem is survival mode because I can't change car and usually there are 3 officers in screen shooting at me in the first ten seconds.

It should be harder to get them pop though. More covered, less accuracy for police, 1 bullet doesn't instantly wreck a tire, bullet proof tires on some cars...
