Man...I am bummed out by Driver 76. I thought it would be challenging and provide for some long hours on the PSP. Was really surprised when I killed that Chinese gangster dude and the game was over! WHAT THE ****!!!

In summary:
- I bought the game on a Friday was finished by the monday.
- the missions were fairly straight forward, not too many difficult ones

Maybe my expectations were set by GTA which had some good difficult missions that required practice to get good at them. Also that game went on for a long time.

There were alot of good things in the game but would have been nice to have cops with some ability to chase and a few more missions thrown in.

Was an expensive experience.

Cheers

I'm slightly confused about Driver 76 as opposed to Driver PL. The driver series is going through some strange changes right now ... I hope they get back on target with their original premise and selling point - Hollywood style chase scenes.

YOU CAN'T DO A HOLLYWOOD CHASE SCENE WITHOUT A CAMERA!!! HELLOOOO :-)

Friday to monday, huh? I finished in 5 hours the first time I played it through.

What I hate about Driver 76 is that it's not open-world structured (D:PL had the open-world structure). It sucks how everything is isolated from one-another (like how side missions, missions, and free time are all seperate from each other). The good part about open-world games is that you can get bored and go do something at any time (like D:PL). Man, if the next Driver game doesn't have the open-world structure (like in D:PL), screw it, I ain't wastin' my money. I sure hope Driver 76 isn't a sign of the future of what the Driver series will bring us.

I agree. The Open-World should also be more interactive with the ability to go into many of the buildings, talking to people etc.

Hey, they can do it in Oblivion and other RPG games, why not do it in the Driver game?

The Film Recorder should have a toggle on/off feature, knowing that to create an open world will tax resources, but still give the player the opportunity to RECORD any section of the game they want, then edit it in the Film Director.

Now I'm not sure why, but if you compare the D:PL map to the Driver 76 map, you'll see that there's a large chunk of Jersey missing. Cliffside park isn't there (or the "Nebraska" shaped park in New Jersey if you're not sure what I'm talking about). I don't think they did this for historical reasons, in 2 years, I doubt you have time to build houses, apartments, and parks. So I'm guessing that they cut that whole section out of the map because of size.

Another thing that I'm pissed off about with Driver 76, they said that there'd be customizable soundtracks. Well guess what, THAT WAS A MOTHERF**KING LIE. I've read previews about Driver 76 saying that it was going to have it, and I asked my local Gamestop dealer (he said that it was going to have it too). I mean, the soundtrack is great, but I do want to listen to my other songs that I uploaded onto my PSP (and I assume everybody else would agree).

I think that this isolation might have been a wish from the Atari forums come true. For some people.

Well that's f**king dumb that Reflections and Ubisoft granted that f**king wish.Mad The better not have that $#!++y isolation stuff again in the Driver series.Mad

They probably cut a lot out of D76 due to memory limits on the PSP's UMD. Also, D76 was an easier game to make, since it uses the DPL game engine, which doesn't require a complete overhaul of graphics.

I haven't played D76 since I don't have a PSP, but if I did, I'd be at the very least satisfied there's a Driver game available to play, even without all the features of the PS2 DPL.

Next Driver: Interior DASH view, Free Roam TAG MODE chases, Miles of Backroads, Intense Speed-Edge of your seat Action, MAJOR Crash Impacts, day/night cycle, tons of customizable options, lots of stunts, ON FOOT in FPS view/overthe shoulder RE4 style, sportbikes, more car camera views, "Drop a RAMP" Cheat, fun vehicle chases where THE CAR is the Weapon, not a gun...

I finally played Driver 76 on my cousin's PSP and yeah much more dispointed with it then I was with D:PL.
I just want the whole D:PL storyline done with and make some REAL Driver games.

Is Devil May Cry 4 out? Yes! Now what does Dante say?..Oh..LET'S ROCK BABY!

To Insane Driver06...regarding your comment:

Perhaps...if I didn't pay 70 swiss francs to buy the god damned thing.

The problem with the PSP is that the games are TOO SHORT and TOO EASY! The UMD disks can't hold enough data. I was so suprised at how repetitive and booring NFS: MW 5-1-0 got after a few plays. I tried Full Auto: 2. Way too hard. SpongeBob (birthday present >_<Wink too freaking stupid, and GripShift which was OK but got boring.
