I'm bored. So here's a list of all the things in the Driver series with "Real" names to them (landmarks, famous people, places, and songs don't count). This list includes sponsors and companies in or mentioned in the series.
Driver 1: Mentos mints Castrol GTX motor oil San Francisco Railways Pacific Electric Railway Miami Rail Cadillac autos Driver 2: Mountain Dew soda Yahoo internet access Union Pacific Railroad Amtrak Railroad Driv3r: Miami Rail Nokia cell phones Sobe energy drink TCDD Turkish Railway Driver Parallel Lines: MTA Transportation Did I miss any? I sure hope all or most of these real names can come back in the next Driver game, and more. "New York is the coolest place in the world! I'm hoping they bring some Subways and Quiznos to the table. Those franchise identities will add some spice to the billboards and signs. I also hope they bring in some Dunkin' Donuts "America Runs on Dunkin'", for some of the police cars to park and take a coffee break. Though I'm half kidding, real signs do add a sense of reality to the game. -------------- Next Driver: Interior DASH view, Free Roam TAG MODE chases, Miles of Backroads, Intense Speed-Edge of your seat Action, MAJOR Crash Impacts, day/night cycle, tons of customizable options, lots of stunts, ON FOOT in FPS view/overthe shoulder RE4 style, sportbikes, more car camera views, "Drop a RAMP" Cheat, fun vehicle chases where THE CAR is the Weapon, not a gun... |

Ah.
I remember driving past the SoBe signs while driving on my sportsbike. It made me thirsty. Is Devil May Cry 4 out? Yes! Now what does Dante say?..Oh..LET'S ROCK BABY! |

Oh, I found another one! OK, in Driver 1, look at the front-end menu. You'll notice there's a map of the greater Los Angeles area in the background. If you look really, really carefully, you'll see "AT&SF" on it. AT&SF stands for the Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad (commonly known as just the "Santa Fe"). The Santa Fe Railroad merged with the Burlington Northern Railroad in the mid-90s forming Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF).
So there's another real name that was used in the Driver series. I hope they could license a lot of names of things in the next Driver game. It would make it feel even more real than ever! Yes, I agree. Realism must be pushed further and having real products and companies listed within a Driver game can be one of the ways to help make that more possible. Also, it could allow for a reduction of development costs, so it would help Reflections that much more towards making the "Dream Driver game." Midnight Club 3: Remix licensed a lot of real names. They used their car and part companies in advertising in the game, Rolling Stone magazine, Comedy Central, Pepsi soda, and more. I think the next Driver game needs to license names of "Everyday" companies. This way we feel that we're in a more realistic world. Maybe they could license some real vehicles too this time. Forza Motorsport 2, Midnight Club: Los Angeles, and L.A. Rush all have real vehicles with realistic damage. Why not Driver?
