Driver 76 looks awesome! Here are some screenshots. It looks like you'll play as Ray.
Now I see a historical inaccuracy. The cop cars are 1978 Dodge Diplomats. They should be 1974 Dodge Monacos. And I also don't want to see any weapons, music, or vehicles made after 1976 (1977 latest). "New York is the coolest place in the world! Pretty much were everyone wants to discuss driver related topics is really up to them. I'd perfer Driver Madness, not only because I run it and want more users to chat to but there are also many other active members who have recently joined, so usually there is always something to talk about. And the few things I don't like about neoseeker is that is isn't a site totally on driver it's like oon everygame, although you do have a sepearate forum for driver: parallel lines and each other driver game but this is on every console version and when you wanna chat about it is isn't all in the one spot like Driver Madness. Well since I have your attention, there are many forums dedicated to Driver Modding, DPL-List, D3-List, Driver Video, Driver Stats and Driver Wishlists and these forums will be part of the forums of the official sites when they become released. Well from now on here it's you choice on where to go. I just hope you choose Driver Madness |

Wait, you're *****ing about 78 not being 'accurate', however 77 is completely fine? Not that historical inaccuracies bother me, I don't research for hours on end so I can ***** about a building being off by an inch in a videogame. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Go outside! "Assaultmachine1" I was going to create a Driver Jokes forum on Driver Madness. However you did origionaly create it and it was a great thread
Anyways am I allowed to re-create it or do you wanna recreate it there? |

Driver 76 looks pretty decent for a PSP game.
Well since there is now a Driver game already being made by Ubisoft and such, we really should be getting a forum on Driver soon. At least it shouldn't be a problem to post about Driver 76 in this here handheld gaming forum. Life is like a road. |
Yeh, there no problem talking about Driver 76 here as it's a Heldheld Game

Well I finally saw the original Gone in 60 Seconds yesterday, caught the last 45 minutes of it on TV, and I must say, it blows. Horrible, horrible directing. Sure, watching cars speed around and hit stuff is cool, but it works much better in a videogame, the chase wasn't even that interesting. The part I hated the most, however, is all the random stuff that happens throughout the course of the chase, how it breaks off from the chase, and we are forced to watch the scene of an accident for 5 minutes after the fact. What a horrid movie. I need to go play D1 to wash the taste out of my mouth.

agreeded, except i'f rather watch the taste out with DRI

It's alright if you create it because I probably won't be around very much as I'm going to be busy for the most of my time with other things. |
ok, I will
I'm getting into game development now and I've found a lot of GPL game engines. and if your looking for good physics you should try Newtons Game Dynamics. |

Well you need to understand C++ too in order to know how to do scripting, so I take it that you've been working on that or have you not? What field in the work of video gaming are you looking to take a stand for, driver_madness?
I want to be a producer and maybe even be the lead designer, making sure to come up with the best ideas and of what needs to be done for the game. I know that 3D game studio is a good program for when it comes to creating video games, so I may use that for any games I wish to make before actually starting on an actual career. How is it coming along with the modding that you plan to get done, driver_madness? I was thinking of working with modding before actually going into making a game of my very own, so I may need to work with you guys, but I would need to learn a lot before being ready to do that. What is the status on the development team for the mod you plan to work on? Could you please explain anything you know about the mod thus far? |
Yeh, c++ is the best to learn (^_^)| I'm making a small modding tool and I'm going to use Visual Basic for that. But after that I'm gonna go straight into C/C++ coding. And It's a little similar to PHP so I know the basics already
Now I haven't thought all that much about the future, I need to show some more success in creating a game first, I've worked on testing and creating little things but I haven't done all that much yet. I'm creating an entire website and a Wiki just for Driver Modding, and after delay after delay I'm hoping to release it in the next 2 weeks. That will show all the things we know and what everyone can do to help us futher mod the game. And not to forget the (PC) release of Parallel Lines, that will hopefully enable us to go further, however I'm not sure how they'll go along converting Driver: Parallel Lines. So we will see what happens in the future and expect to see the Driver Modding website coming along soon. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask |

I would have to agree with you on that, matt__jon. But Toby Halicki really put some passion and effort into making some awesome car chase movies, though haven't done the best of job in plot and acting. Being that he is the director, star and everything. He should have spent some of his money on hiring good writers or something. But you got to admit that his movies are old, and people with not much skill will not do a very good job. But I've seen a little improvement in his later movies. Like Junkman, Deadline Auto Theft and Gone In 60 Seconds 2. Junkman has a more, slightly interesting story, but still not that great. And if you want more action, Junkman definitely delivers. From plane crashes, car crashes, chases, to even an exploding house. Junkman is much more explosive action-packed than Gone In 60 Seconds. Which is whne I was actually inspired by Toby and at one time wanted to do the same thing when I get older. Deadline Auto Theft is basically just a remake of Gone In 60 Seconds, while still having lots of old scenes, there are some new ones that add a little to the story, but still not close to being enough. I honor Toby Halicki for having guts and putting effort and the little money he probably had into making such action movies. I mean, compared to the movie makers these days who have all the money, but don't want to get their hands dirty... At least Toby died doing what he loved to do but that was during Gone In 60 Seconds 2, which did not get finished, but now it's out on DVD with edited scenes to make a ending and such. There is not a very good story, but there are some nice car crashes in it with a 18 wheeler, which was pretty awesome at first. But it really starts to suck when that Slicer thing comes out and starts flipping cars. It's just so lame, in my opinion. Well, I hope Driver: Parallel gets some extra touches to make it better than the PS2 and Xbox version. I really would like to see some improvement. Life is like a road. |

You can just say the word "ports" since it is much easier to type. And yes, more improvement and some really necessary changes would be enough to make the next DPL ports better than those for the PS2 and Xbox.
If I was asked for what I would like to see as an improvement in the DPL ports for the PC and Wii, I'd say that the controls, graphics, and even the on-foot would need some improvements to enhance the experience more. |
Definately more interaction with anything onfoot would help. The driving was pretty much right on, the chases need work. Actually, I would say the chases need the most work, as the police cannot keep up in my PS2 version. The AI definately needs to be improved, both for on foot cops and driving cops.
The on foot cops in the PS2 version just walk up to you and let you shoot them, theres no (hate to say it) realism to the cops in DPL. I feel like if I knew anything at all about programming I could make a better game then anyone else, it just seems like every game I have played is a hack job, no one has looked into any subject of their game and fully exploited it to be as good as it can be, every aspect is a hack job, something that was done in a hurry to get the game released so they could get their money faster, and while it does work for them in the short term, in the long term, players become unnattached to the series because of lame attempts to make money. No one cares about the integrity of their games, they just want the money. Well, I'm drunk, I think I'll stop this rant now. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Go outside! Do something, get off your ass! |

Actually, I hope the driving is tweaked a little too. DPL didn't have the same feel that the previous games had as far as I'm concerned. Maybe it was that damn analog stick, I don't know. I don't mind using the analog stick with games that aren't focused on driving, but when absolute control is a necessity, I think you've just gotta have the pad man! With Drivers 1, 2, & 3, I could slide a car within a millimeter of an object, just like some of the crazy car commercials we see on TV. Seriously, it was like a ballet on wheels. If I crashed, there was no one to blame but myself. I never had that same feeling of being in the "zone" while playing DPL... and that sucked most of the fun out it for me. I don't think I would have complained about the increased traffic in DPL if I'd had better control. Think about Stuntman. Think about how you have to line the cars up within a hair of their mark in order to execute a perfect jump, or to squeeze between two objects. Can you honestly say that you'd feel as comfortable playing Stuntman with an analog stick as you do with the D-pad? I certainly wouldn't. NO film director = NO sale! |
Yes I can. I hate having to hold down the d-pad buttons or the other ones for any amount of time, they should only be used for tapping, thats why I like DPL's controls. D3 had the same controls as well, but also let you use d-pad. My fingers would get sore mashing down the x button for hours on end. The sticks are much better, play it and you'll get used to it.

Having the D-pad steering and analog steering would suck! Think about it Korteck. How are you going to change weapons, change to the next song, or go to thrill cam without the D-pad activating those features? That's why I think D:PL had the best driving of them all because it wasn't like 2 buttons per action. I HATE D-PAD STEERING.
