If I may suggest, we would also need to have the over-shoulder-RE4 style camera view since it would fit right for the on-foot and when using weapons.

I want a view through the eyes of the character you play. Plain and simple.

Another cool thing that I'd like to see in the next big Driver game is buses stopping at bus stops. I mean, when I play D:PL, I see so many signs that say "Bus Stop" on them and no buses stop, nor do people line up at the bus stops. This would make the city more alive if buses could stop at bus stops and pick up people. It should also be a minigame too (like a taxi minigame, but with more passengers).

I agree, Driverman2006. We need as much of the city to feel alive as possible, whether it's the vehicles, pedestrians, aad even nature itself.

Mainly for on foot we need a first person view like that of Halo, with similar controls, and the ability to adjust the aim sensitivity.

As for over the shoulder, I'm not a huge fan of that view, because the charatcer blocks half the screen. D3's 3rd person view on foot was just fine, it was above the character so they didn't block the screen.

And damnit let us aim 90º up and down already, who cares if theres nothing in the sky, its so lame in either game that you can go to a rooftop and not be able to shoot anyone from it because you can't look down far enough.

On foot, most players would welcome these views:

1. First person shooter view
2. Star Wars BattleFront over the shoulder view
3. Regular 3rd person view

As far as buses, I'd also like to see some subways, trains and trolleys stopping like they did in Turkey, Driver 3, where we have a chance to step onboard, but this time, let us sit down too. I like a scenic view without having to steer, once in awhile.

Next Driver: Interior DASH view, Free Roam TAG MODE chases, Miles of Backroads, Intense Speed-Edge of your seat Action, MAJOR Crash Impacts, day/night cycle, tons of customizable options, lots of stunts, ON FOOT in FPS view/overthe shoulder RE4 style, sportbikes, more car camera views, "Drop a RAMP" Cheat, fun vehicle chases where THE CAR is the Weapon, not a gun...

If Reflections wants trollies running on the streets (and drivable for the player too), then I recommend they pick either San Francisco or Philadelphia, or both.

Based on location of the trolley, and the year the game is based in, San Francisco would be one choice.

If they're more interested in some kind of track transportation, a subway, train or monorail would work well as an alternate form of scenic transportation.

One thing I really don't like about GTA3 was the fact they include a subway, but unlike every vehicle in the game, you can't see inside, or control it. Now the trains in GTASA were a little better, but I actually want to be looking out a window, like the trolley in Driv3r, if subways/trains are included.

It's like having a taxi transport, but just warping the player to the location without an option to enjoy the ride, looking out the windows.

That's one thing that makes a city feel alive that almost every open city game developer seems to miss: letting the player sit back and view the city from the window of a subway, train, trolley, bus, taxi, etc.

I guess that by mentioning my new concept of having multiple driving careers to choose from would be a great change to consider for the Driver franchise. This is much better than sticking with just one career because after time, the value of the game will go down, but if you have multiple careers to choose from, it will help the replay value a lot.

In addition, we need the following:

- The most realism a vehicle can ever get. The way that all the vehicles function, are taken care of, and how to use them is almost, if not exactly like in real life.

- The pedestrians, gangs, cops, and anyone else in the game talks, moves, acts, and thinks just like a real person. As in GTA IV, people don't look exactly the same. Everyone should also express emotions at certain points of the game and have a unique and different personality than others.

- Graphics should be extremely detailed, from the vehicles, to the people, to the last drop of what's left of being done in the game.

- Many places to explore. We need a lot more places than even in GTA SA or GTA IV for us to be able to do all kinds of things.

- Weapons should be a really large variety, much like that seen in GTA VC or GTA SA. If it can extend further than that, then let it be as big as in Ratchet & Clank.

- New characters and no old ones returning; If the game is going to be centered around multiple careers, there's no point in bringing back old and familiar faces.

- On-foot abilities must be bigger than ever with most of what you could expect as an ability from a normal being (i.e. crawling, crouching, sitting down, rolling, jumping, climbing, moving things, carrying things, buying things, picking up things, and more. Even many simulation elements would not be a bad addition. Infact, if it's going to be your own character, then you should have the right to go eat somewhere and either keep your created character fat or skinny.

- On-line play: We need co-op play and even the ability for other players to play around in the city of the game, where they can do whatever they want, which would be much like that of the San Andreas gameplay. The number of players should be as much a 4-8. Hell, if everything of the game is finished and if a little more can be squeezed in to the game, I'd say that we need as much as 16 players to play with online.

- Create-a-character: this is a feature that I've mentioned before, which would be an awesome new way to use for multiple careers in the game and even when playing on-line with other people. It's better than seeing other players and yourself playing as Tanner or T.K.

- Places for yourself: You should start off in an ugly place for yourself to live in or with little money to find a house that is affordable and small. After your earn more money, you can either buy a new place to live in (house, apartment, mansion, condo, etc.) or build a house someplace where there is room for such. After you have a place to live in, you can buy stuff for it and make it look as good as possible.

- Buying should be an option left for food, drinks, vehicles, weapons, tools, stuff for your home, and more.

This list does indeed have a lot of new changes for what the Driver franchise could take off in using. I hope that we see many of the ideas that I've been able to list here.

Good ideas. I'd like to see a Driving RPG, with more than 10 driving careers to choose from, create your own character, a world with driving, much like the concept of Oblivion (360), where you choose your own path, good, neutral or evil in a huge, open world to explore on foot and with a vehicle.

These ideas that I've list are many of the ways that can help boost the next Driver game and make it in to a really successful game, especially if you were to include the multiple career path idea of mine.

Up to this point, I can't think of a single driving game that offers multiple driving careers as we've discussed. It would be a groundbreaking option in a driving game.

And it would be the biggest, smartest, and greatest way to make change for a franchise that is running low on money and ideas than before.

Yeah, most driving games in an open map have you either do the main storyline missions or mini games, but beyond that, there's not much change in the formula.

You know, I was thinking this same idea at my friend's house, when we were taking turns playing Gears Of War through Xbox Live. I said that we need to see a game that is far more realistic and allows for you to look more over a wall or railing that is in front of you because that could allow for you or even the other person below you, to make a shoot. It seems ridiculous that you aren't able to do any more. This helps render your character almost useless. FPS games need to be taken further than ever. Driver should also be one of the first games to make aiming so much more free and allow for players to lean more over something if they wanted to. In real life, this would be an option, but if nothing like this makes it into a video game, which my friend thinks is a stupid idea (he doesn't see what we both see), I don't see how First-Person shooters will ever make it to feel one day like you're absolutely in a real world. If a game takes the realism to heights that make it feel like your actually witnessing yourself in a real world, but through playing a game and, at the same time, offer the most complete and innovative as well as easy-to-use controls, this will make for both the best realism and player experience that can ever be made from playing a video game. Virtual Reality will certainly tie into this when we finally see video games bound with it.

Leaning over edges would be a great option I haven't seen in many games, if any. Nice. I'd also like to see a 3rd person, over the shoulder and FPS view, all of them accessible with or WITHOUT a weapon, unlike DPL, which requires you to carry a gun for the behind the shoulder view, which mistakenly puts the character in the center of the screen, instead of to the side, so you can see ahead.

I'm glad that you support both an idea of mine and Matt_jon's, InsaneDriver06. Yes, such an idea would be pretty useful to become implemented as one of the new features for future FPS games. However, I don't likely expect Halo 3 or even Gears of War 2 to make that happen. Hopefully, there will be such a big and new original concept of an FPS game, later in the 7th generation, which is usually where the best games come out, will allow for much greater lengths in realism, shooting, the arsenal of weapons, locations, its storyline, and even for the multiplayer portion of it. If a developer of some sort stumbles upon such an idea for a concept of a game over here, I'll say that it would be a very nice thing to have them bring it into their hands as they use it to create a huge and memorable FPS game. Maybe Driver can be one of the first games to implement such a feature and I hope that it will be able to handle aiming and on-foot abilities far better than what we've seen from any previous games of the 7th generation and even from the past generations. I really expect a lot from Reflections to do in order to make the on-foot feel so amazing and great while also doing far more for the driving experience.

I'm not sure how difficult it would be to program new interactive movements, like leaning over a ledge and firing, but it's an idea rarely seen in action games, so it would be useful and unique. Hopefully, they'll offer such an innovation in the next Driver.

Indeed it is a rarely seen idea and hopefully Reflections will consider this idea as one of the many others that have to be done for the on-foot.

I have a feeling Reflections wants to drop the on foot for pure driving action. Hopefully, it's not the case, but after reading the DPL preview back in PSM in 2005, anything's possible.
