In DRIV3R for the PC, there is a menu labeled "Cheats" under "Options", but it is greyed out.
I understand that beating the game on the consoles enabled this menu (correct?), but this doesn't appear to be the case for the PC. Initially, I was able to activate the menu by manually editing front.MEC in a hex-editor, but after a little more rooting around I also found a way to enable the cheats by hex-editing the ProfileData file for my DRIV3R savegame, so it's obviously something that's supposed to be saved to your profile. In case anyone's curious, you open the ProfileData file in a hex editor and change the hexadecimal values at the following locations from 00 to 01 to "Unlock" that cheat's toggle in the Cheats menu: 1A4 - Unlocks the menu itself 196 - All Missions 198 - All weapons 19A - Unlimited Ammo 19C - Invincibility (In Take-A-Ride) 19E - Immunity 1A2 - All Vehicles However, I was wondering if there was another, more conventional way of activating the cheats. I can find no mention anywhere of cheat codes for the PC version of DRIV3R to activate this menu. Now that I know how to activate the menu items, it doesn't really matter, but my curiosity is piqued. |

in your message it says to change the 00 to 01, but at the locations given there is no 00. can you help me? or could you just send the edited front.GUI file to me via e-mail?

I guess it's a good thing I subscribed to the topic...I was darned surprised to see the reply notification over a year after my original post.
However, I'm not sure why you wouldn't be seeing the keys in the expected locations. Out of curiosity - what IS there? Are there 01s or something else? I might have to spend a little time re-familiarizing myself with the file to give you more general instructions. After re-reading your message, are you editing the front.MEC file or the ProfileData file? The one you want is ProfileData. |

You don't edit front.MEC, you edit the "ProfileData" file for your Driv3r savegame.
And you edit it in a hex editor. Each of those addresses (locations in the file) will have 00 or a 01. More than likely, they'll all have 00. Changing them all to 01 will fix it. |
