I like that idea, InsaneDriver06. Therefore, I will change the description of what a stuntshow pilot career is like in the Multiple Career Concept Discussion to make it give the player more options of how to do the career.

The nice thing about Driving/racing/flying careers is the fact it doesn't have to have a 'big' dramatic storyline where people's lives are being threatened by killers or something. It could be about a stuntman who simply enjoys performing vehicle stunts, and successfully must complete the challenges based in his career. The end could be where he either decides to retire and pursue a new career, reach the number one spot at the end of the season against his competition, or continue into the next season, with all his stats intact, fending off new rivals.

Now that's an interesting point, InsaneDriver06. Of course, games always don't need to be very violent in order to be fun. There are lots of ways to make games fun and sometimes, toning down the violence for a particular aspect of a game is what helps the game out. Not to mention the fact that these games will likely not display as much controversy as those very violent games that are out there.

Agreed. There could be the Gangster, Undercover and Highway Patrol careers that offer plenty of violent action, while many of the other careers could offer action that comes from the thrill of driving, hitting a ramp, catching the best angle for the next scene as a film director, looping the plane while barely missing the ground. Guns aren't always necessary to have fun in a game. -------------- Next Driver: Interior DASH view, Free Roam TAG MODE chases, Miles of Backroads, Intense Speed-Edge of your seat Action, MAJOR Crash Impacts, day/night cycle, tons of customizable options, lots of stunts, ON FOOT in FPS view/overthe shoulder RE4 style, sportbikes, more car camera views, "Drop a RAMP" Cheat, fun vehicle chases where THE CAR is the Weapon, not a gun... |

Do this, as we've been mentioning in the last two posts of this thread along with those 10 careers listed, Reflections, and the story as well as the free-roam gameplay will do very well. I am sure of it.

I would also like to do the train engineer career at sometime in the game. I'd like to try my best to beat the clock with a passenger train, and I would also like to drop off and pick up freight with a freight train. I sure hope somewhere in the game we have a "Casey Jones" style mission, which is where you need to drive a train and smash it into another and bailing out before impact. They do that in a lot of movies.

If Reflections allows for downloadable content as a part of the next Driver game, it's possible that we can see some more careers and which, in this case, would mean that you can possibly get the train engineer career. I don't find it as the best part of action for the Driver series, but it could be an extra career available through a download that comes out for the game. The real careers that should be there to begin with, in the game, are the 10 careers that I've listed, which all have to do with the kind of action that we need to see in a Driver game.

Downloadable careers is a good idea.
I'd like to see some trains in the next Driver, but only if we can enter as a passenger or engineer, exploring the interior as the train moves, able to look out the windows, sit down, walk down the aisles, step onto the roofs for some nice rooftop sportbike or on foot chases. There's plenty of potential for train/vehicle interaction as well. |

Another career that I'd like to do sometime in the next Driver game (which is not on the poll) is being a steam locomotive fireman. That would be an original career (GTA and other free roaming games didn't have this one yet). In this career, you need to add fuel to the fire in the firebox and add water into the boiler. This career would be challenging because you need to get a good amount of steam pressure into the boiler so the train can move, you want a good amount of water in the boiler, and you want to keep the fire at a good temperature. The good thing about this career is that you don't have the responsibility of driving a train, you get paid to maintain it so it can move (steam trains).
Most steam trains burn coal. So if Reflections is going to do this, an old coal burning steam train would be fun to drive and/or fire. There are wood and oil burning steam trains too. I'm not sure, if Reflections is considering adding a driveable train, that they would make it run by forcing the player to load coal or wood into the fire to keep it moving, as you'd be missing out on all the scenery as the train moved. If that was a choice between being the engineer, coal shoveler, passenger or ticket taker, then that might work in that sense. A train would be a nice break from all the driving action in any case.

Oh I'm sorry InsaneDriver06, you thought I was saying it should be manditory. If anything, it should be like a "Side Career" or "Weekend Job". The next Driver game needs side jobs/careers too. So, a steam train fireman would be something that you could do in your spare time to make a few extra bucks.

I'd also like to see more "Chase" related tasks, like some ON FOOT chases, where you're after an enemy on foot, dashing through malls, crowded sidewalks and more, besides just vehicle chases and aircraft, boat chases.

During the airshow or stunt-driver stunt shows, they should allow the option to fly/drive solo in front of the crowd, or team up with another aircraft/vehicle for co-operative stunts.
Example: Co-op aircraft stunt 1. Fly directly towards each other, at the last second, fly sideways, barely missing each other. The crowd roars the closer your get to each other's aircraft. But don't get too close, BOOM! Same goes for two stunt cars hitting opposing ramps heading towards each other, each passes one another on the fly, side by side. The closer they get, the more points you get from the crowd. |

This is a nice idea for the stunt pilot at an air show, InsaneDriver06. It would definitely work well for the career in the game.

The driving/riding/flying career option would make an awesome game in the hands of Reflections, as long as they didn't make the missions too impossible, like some the final Driver 1, 2 and 3 missions.
