AssaultMachine1 mentioned the great idea of Driver-related Careers for the next Driver. Based on that:

Next Gen Driver: Which Driving Career would you play first?

I'd probably choose to play as a Highway Patrol Officer first, pulling over speeding drivers on the freeways. Then after that career, I'd quit to become a Stunt Driver. After quitting that career, I'd want to be an 18 wheeler transporter across the freeways. Then a Motorcycle racer, race driver, etc.

Question:
Next Gen Driver: Which Driving Career would you play first?

Choices:
Undercover Cop
Transporter
Stunt Driver
Race Driver (Nascar, Formula 1, Racecars)
Air Show Stunt Pilot
Demolition Derby Driver
Newspaper, Mailman Delivery Driver
Gangster
Highway Patrol Officer (Radar Gun)
Motorcycle Racer
Helicopter Reporter
18 Wheeler Transport Driver
Delivery Truck Driver
Tow Truck Driver
Emergency Service Driver
Food Delivery Driver
Bus, Cab, Limo Driver
Sportscar Collector
Train Engineer
Offroad Racer (4x4's, ATV's, Dirtbikes, etc)
Water Boat Patrolman
Other...

Next Driver: Interior DASH view, Free Roam TAG MODE chases, Miles of Backroads, Intense Speed-Edge of your seat Action, MAJOR Crash Impacts, day/night cycle, tons of customizable options, lots of stunts, ON FOOT in FPS view/overthe shoulder RE4 style, sportbikes, more car camera views, "Drop a RAMP" Cheat, fun vehicle chases where THE CAR is the Weapon, not a gun...

Wow. This is a big list of career paths for a Driver game, InsaneDriver06. Nice job with the list. I think that I would like to see the path of being a racer of any kind, either that of closed circuit races or even going for street racing because there are just so many great things about racing games today and if Reflections can push the racing formula to as close as to that of the current racing games as possible, then I'd be really happy because this is a great way of the need for speed and even is good for competition. Although this would probably be the most interesting career path of mine, I really do want a variety of other ones too, most of which deal with driving while the undercover cop and gangster careers are also available since they were there in the Driver games. Stuntman, as a career path, would really feel as an awesome experience for the Driver series and maybe Reflections could give it a similar formula like the one in Stuntman. Other than that, the rest of the careers that you have on the list are what I would love to try out as well.

A 15 to 20 mission storyline for each career would be great, and when not on a mission, you could just do your normal routine related to your driving career, whether it's a stunt show, racing, delivering goods, patrolling the highways, etc.

I was thinking the same thing, InsaneDriver06. The number of missions for each job should be around 15-25 missions. Even when you consider only 15-25 missions for a job of being an undercover cop or a gangster, that's a lot of missions altogether because if the game has plenty of careers to choose from (maybe around 5-10 or even more), there will be not much reason as to why you will feel very much bored at all. And because you have to help your character's living, you will use the money that you get to buy a new home, weapons, vehicles, tools, stuff for your home, food, drinks, and a whole lot more, so there are a lot of rewards on how you get all of your jobs done. This is kind of like Scarface: The World Is Yours the game and even a little like GTA, but hey, this is a lot of rewards that you can get for doing things and that offers you more freedom, so it is a really important aspect to an open-world/free-roaming game.

I'll mostly be a racer or stunt driver.
That's a nice list you got there.

I think I know of another good career that you should be able to do that nobody's thought of yet. And that is being a baggage handler at a train station or airport. You could drive baggage trollies and forklifts. It sounds like another good idea for a "Beginner" job.

Nice new idea for a career, Driverman2006. It would be great to ride those baggage trollies and forklifts, especially because of the career that you get in handling baggage as well as maybe even other stuff too. Also, there should be an ability for you to pilot any kind of airplanes in the game, which would usually be at the airport. You would be able to pilot small to even big planes, which could even include one of those private jet planes that can be owned by a particular company or person.

Well I'm glad you like the Baggage Handler Career.

I'm hoping that they can also use real transportation companies. Like Southwest and Northwest Airlines for planes. So if you like flying commercial airliners, it would be cool to fly the real ones, models and airlines!

And railroads like Amtrak, MTA (New York), CTA (Chicago), BNSF, and Union Pacific for railroads. So if you like trains, it would be cool to drive the real ones, models and railroads!

I think these 2 things will make your career feel more realistic than ever! Anybody agree?

It sounds very intriguing, but I'm not sure if Reflections can actually receive such permission for them to use real names of any companies. If they can do it, then that's good, but if not, at least we can expect some more creativity coming from Reflections.

Well actually, in Driver 2, if you watch the scene where Tanner and Jones ride the train in the desert, the locomotive actually says "Amtrak" on the side, you've got to watch it really quickly and carefully. Also in Driver 2, some of the buildings in Ghost Town outside of Vegas say "Union Pacific" on the side because they're old-wooden boxcars. In Driver 1, the trollies in San Francisco have real names on them like "Pacific Electric" and "San Francisco Railways". And in D:PL, the buses said "MTA" on them. So Reflections has used real transportation names before, they can do it again.

Okay, so they've had experience with doing this in the past. This means that they don't have to worry too much at all. I think that they'll be able to get the real company names in to the game. The one thing that I wonder is when will we, gamers, ever see a game with real licensed vehicles that are destructible as in real life. This is what a step Reflections should try to take and see if they can do, but if they can't, then just stick with fictional names and make the realism as in the real world.

I hope they have real vehicles with realistic damage. They do it in movies all the time. And as for games, Forza Motorsport 2 and L.A. Rush have real vehicles with realistic damage.

Lets hope that the Video Game Industry only grows bigger and better, meaning that the problems we've been seeing in video games will either dissappear forever or not be as frequent anymore.

Reflections can go beyond what they were capable of doing now that this is the 7th generation and in addition, they can treat us to the realism that they were hoping for in D3, but couldn't make possible because of the technology for the PS2 and Xbox being not enough, but with the PS3 and Xbox 360, there looks to be a lot of big advancements in AI, graphics, realism, driving physics, destruction, weapons, characters, and many other things. This generation will really boost up the things that we were waiting to see become closer to that as in the real world. Innovation and power will truly be the faith of the 8th generation because I don't think that Nintendo will want a smaller system when it will only be that much harder for it to gain more fans, so the 3 companies' systems will be almost close in terms of power, but in innovation, which the Wii is making a lot of use in and the PS3 is doing some work in as well, this factor will become bigger than ever. However, we do not know what will happen then. We must focus on this generation for now and hope that Reflections makes it the best that the Driver franchise will ever see of how it performs in the Video Game Industry.

I'd like to be a stunt pilot at an airshow, where each show, you could choose to play a mission where you have to perform increasingly challenging stunts, some that skim the ground, others that have you interact with other aircraft, a stunt man on the plane who needs to be lifted and dropped off onto a moving truck, plenty of barrel rolls, spins, drops and flips. The crowd would respond based on your skills.

Awww man, that brings me back!!! I went to an awesome airshow in the summer of 2005 in Westfield, MA. I would love to be an airshow pilot in the next Driver. I'll save it as my last career since it sounds like the most challenging.

I'm going to have to choose "Other" because I want to start off as a baggage handler, which I think is the lowest in terms of pay and excitement. Then I'll move on to the other higher paying jobs.

Cool career, guys. I sure hope that Reflections chooses these for their next Driver game and that they all come with missions and a storylines to make the game that much more interesting.

Cool. I've been to a few airshows years ago, and they're definitely filled with action that would be perfect for a stuntshow pilot career. You could choose your aircraft, from biplanes, standard planes, stuntplanes, jets, glider planes, helicopters, etc. While not on a mission, you could freely explore the map.
