In D5 I would like to see better damage on cars and on the main character. Like if you turn to sharply you would roll the car and you go throw the windscreen if you have a fast head on collision. For your character, blood is a must. I want to see a blood stain on Tanner's clothes and I want to see bruising on his face. If you crash a car you don't come out unscaved.

Yeah, one thing I think the driver series owes us is better damage on vehicles. The use of blood could be debated, I really dont care if the game has blood or not. But it does add another element of realism. I'd also like to see better ragdoll physics effects on the character. This would proably be annoying but if the game was ultra realistic and tanner hit something really hard you should be able to see him get tossed within the vehicle he was driving, or possibly end up out on the road (similar to the ragdoll effect in FlatOut) A good game I noticed for damage realism was in "Colin McRae DIRT", damage in that game isn't pre-created it's all programmed and physics based. |

Yes to deformation damaging that alters the shape of the car from rectangular to accordian. The impact point should also cave in, and the impact it self should be exaggerated, so the car doesn't just slide a few feet, but really get tossed for a ride.

I agree that it has to be exagerated, But not too much
one of my biggest problems with the original Driver was that when I crashed the car it was in the air for too long. I think that the actual chassis and bodywork to the car needs to be damaged to that exaggerated point, but not causing your car to stop completely (although I would like them to allow the car to stall instead - requiring you to start the engine back up) and as for your car flying in the air... well i'd suggest it going upto about 15 feet high (roughly) and that would definately satify me enough to enjoy the gameplay for hours on end!! ------------------------------ AMD Phenom 9600 Black Edition ATI RADEON HD 4870 4GB DDR2 RAM MSI K9A2 Platinum 1TB/1000GB Hard Drive space Windows 7 (RTM/Build 7600)x64 |
