I think that D4/D5 will come out for the PS3, at first, because it was announced back in 2006 that such a thing would happen. Also, the architecture of the PS3 is a lot more complex than that of Xbox 360, so it would be much smarter to first make a PS3 version of a game before deciding to make it for any other system as well. Also, this is Ubisoft Reflections' first try at developing a video game for the PS3 and/or Xbox 360, so it means that making D4/D5 will be that much harder. But I do think that after the PS3 version is released, there might be a 360 version coming up in the future. From what I know, GTA IV was worked on and finished for both the PS3/Xbox 360, but certain games like Unreal Tournament III and The Orange Box were done on one system at a time. I did hear that FFXIII will first be completed on the PS3 before Square Enix can finish the Xbox 360 version.

In the end, I feel that working on one version at a time is less risky because your team won't need to expand to such a great degree, and when work is done on more than one platform, you do need more workers. I don't know how many members Ubisoft Reflections has at this point, but I don't think that it'll be able to hire a lot of people in a short period of time, so my guess and suggestion is for its staff to complete the PS3 version first. While that will keep many 360 owners (including myself) waiting, it will ensure that the final build of the game on both platforms will look very polished.

Ubisoft makes almost all their big titles for both systems. It'd be foolish to leave one behind. Wait a little longer and release them on both systems, day one.

--------------
Next Driver: Interior DASH view, Free Roam TAG MODE chases, Miles of Backroads, Intense Speed-Edge of your seat Action, MAJOR Crash Impacts, day/night cycle, tons of customizable options, lots of stunts, ON FOOT in FPS view/overthe shoulder RE4 style, sportbikes, more car camera views, "Drop a RAMP" Cheat, fun vehicle chases where THE CAR is the Weapon, not a gun...

Ubisoft Media Relations said "PS3 and XBOX360", that was quite a while ago.

I believe it'll defiantly be released on PS3 and PC. Mainly because their looking for developers to work with the PS3 and PC platforms.

But I'm sure we'll see it on
PC, XBOX360 and PC.

It's unlikely that it'll be exclusive to the PS3. Then they wouldn't be looking for hiring a PC Specialist for their Ubisoft Reflections team.

Maybe you're right, InsaneDriver06, but if that was the case, then just like many other franchises that are coming over to the PS3 and Xbox 360 for the first time (Prince of Persia), it needs to be in development for at least two years. Otherwise, I don't see how both versions can be completed, polished well enough, and then be shipped worldwide. I definitely think that this next Driver game will possibly be taking almost, if not as much time as Driv3r did take for it to be finished. If Driver: Parallel Lines has been released first in 2006, I think that the development cycle for the next game will be 3-4 years. Since it's already the mid-point of the year, there's no way that Ubisoft will announce this game any time soon and say that it will be completed before the end of this year. It's more likely that the game will be announced around fall 2008, and that it will come out sometime in either spring 2009, fall 2009, winter 2009, or sometime in 2010 (early in the year or late into the year).

From what I remember clearly, Driver 3 was announced first in 2000, after players were able to beat Driver 2, and it was said that it would come out in 2003. The game kept becoming delayed, eventually becoming released in summer of 2004. This meant that we waited around 4 years for the game to be completed. As for DPL, it took around 2 years to be finished. DPL didn't take as much time because a lot of the gameplay was taken directly from the GTA games, so Reflections was easily able to implement these ideas since they knew them already pretty well. But D3 took much longer because a lot of work went into it, even if not enough was done to make it a good game. The point is that for a title which tries to make lots of improvements, it will take more than 2 years, and definitely more than 1 year to be finished. I do think that Ubisoft Reflections is trying desperately to make this next Driver game as perfect as possible, especially since it is now owned by a well known and a more reliable game publisher.

Driv3r was delayed so they could make Stuntman, when they should have put all that energy into making Driv3r. Oh well.

Just show us a sign of life Reflections, beyond that BBC report, which just looked like test 3D car models and characters. I want to see some actual screenshots.

If Driv4r is a PS3 exclusive, I'd consider buying a PS3, but only if my 3rd piece of junk 360 breaks down with 3 red rings again. Yes, the 360 is a piece of overheating junk that becomes unplayable in under a year with each "Refurbished pile" they send me "Free of charge", since it doesn't work at all, unless one likes staring at 3 red ring lights all day.

PS3 is the system to get from what I've seen. Now it just needs the brilliant Live options and games of the 360...

Its obviously gonna be multiplatform, All of Ubis BIG games are multi platform and they obviously bought out Reflections and Driver because they know they can make it into something BIG!!

OffTopic:

Insane,
No matter which system you have, just make sure that you get the extra cooling kits for them, It p'ed me off when my little bros system (PS3) was really hot, because thats one of the reasons people still buy consoles (because you wouldn't think that you'd have any issues like overheating) So I bought him the extra fankit "fingy" and its a little louder but you can tell the system doesn't judder half as much in the games! - as for the 360... well I would personally take the whole case of it and completely modify it to support huge 120mm fans... but I'm sure you dont wanna mess around with that sort of stuff lol

Good luck with your system anyway mate!!
