If a DriverPL2 is made, these elements would fit nicely. I'd play it.

DPL2, Saints Row 2, GTA4, Prototype, etc.

--------------
Next Driver: Interior DASH view, Free Roam TAG MODE chases, Miles of Backroads, Intense Speed-Edge of your seat Action, MAJOR Crash Impacts, day/night cycle, tons of customizable options, lots of stunts, ON FOOT in FPS view/overthe shoulder RE4 style, sportbikes, more car camera views, "Drop a RAMP" Cheat, fun vehicle chases where THE CAR is the Weapon, not a gun...

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with you, Jackson. Having the on-foot pushed even further would jeopardize the driving portion of the game, so we must have nothing but on-foot being featured, as is always said, within the interiors as in PGR3, with a FP view, nothing more. Let Reflections leave everything else to the driving, which can offer improvements of features from the other 7th generation driving & racing titles before it and even add some new elements to make it even better. Now this is a Driver game that I'll buy for sure. If we see anything else like D2, D3, or DPL, mark my words, I'll never decide to buy that game and if it goes on like that even more, I'll never buy a Driver game again

It's all very well saying that but the reason Driver is not selling is because people are getting bored of it. It needs so much more to it and dont get me wrong driving is still got to be the most important part of the game no doubt about its not called driver for nothing. But driving around all the time gets boreing theress only so much u can do in a car thats why REFLECTIONS are trying to make it a more multi-genre game. I think its a bit silly to make the game just about driving and keep everything else to a miniumal i also think its very naive to think it will sell doing this. I think the next driver should be themed on driving but still have all the listed ellements above. GTA, yes i know that game again, have already took all the fantastic selling points away from driver as far as driving is concerned. The graphics and the style ar eabout the only things left thats why I say with these the could be king of the genre again. Players want to do everything now and well its getting tothe point were what else can driver do. Right now its still got the potential to beat all the games of its gnre but if they make the next game on the same aproach as driv3r and driver PL then it will be blown. They only just got away with DPL. If driv3r wasnt there they would be in a stronger position. But all they can do now to win players back is spend a WHOLE lot a cash on the game I am talking like £10million. If they do this then I will be buying it but right now everything has shrivled up and theres nothing else left to offer in driving alone. So driving should be the theme (Helps when REFLECTIONS have the style they do) and make everything else virtual reality

Well, if you think about it JacksonL2007, "Driver" is the title, so it must refer to the driving being the whole aspect of the game. And about offering virtual reality, that's an unrealistic goal to have Reflections set. It'll be a while from now until we ever do see virtual reality's technology grow to a point where it can be offered in an even larger number of things. Currently, it is said that virtual reality's criticism is that it's very hard to make such technology go to where we'd want it to, so it's not something rather big at all, for the moment. And Virtual Boy, a game console that Nintendo previously made back in the early 1990s, it failed to do well as a system, trying to offer virtual reality, but with the case being that the technology is still far from being where we want it to be, this should be left up for those companies that are experimenting and trying to work with enhancing it for now, rather than just release it already and introduce it as a big part of the Video Game Industry, which I'm sure would result in the same as Nintendo's Virtual Boy, being a big failure.

And secondly, I'd like to point out that people don't like Driver or other games that are similar to the GTA franchise basically because they're copies and offer nothing new or innovative in the on-foot's level of freedom. No matter what, Rockstar North makes the on-foot go further than any game that tries to dominate the GTA franchise. "GTA clone" is one of the reasons, as a term, why people don't like many games that are the same as GTA. And what is the point to ask for the same experience when you've already had experience of it in an earlier game? This is just a pointless suggestion for any kind of a game. It's like saying that you want more WWII titles as FPS games, but many are getting tired of seeing this as a genre. There are some great consequences that result in using the same formula as that of a game developer who is the dominant one.

I don't think bringing simulation into Driver is a good idea at all. GTA:SA lacked the simulation and RPG elements because they were just those same elements from the Sims games and it took the game away from being a gangster to something else, which was a very pointless step taken by Rockstar North that I'm very dissapointed in. And if you look at GTAIV, it likely seems that it won't offer simulation or RPG elements because it wasn't anything that helped the experience at all. I'd much rather trade the simulation and RPG elements in for more weapons, missions, and a large variety of vehicles, within a GTA game. The same goes for Driver, except that I want it to be focused on land vehicles only.

If you look at the Driver franchise, it has hard excelled further than the original Driver game, mainly due to the offer of on-foot, starting with D2. The games, as a result didn't score any higher than D1 and received criticisms of many reviewing magazines and game sites.

I think that the main reason why you want all of this stuff is that you've gone to a point where you can't live without GTA. Even if it means to have little from the Driver franchise and more of the GTA franchise be put into the Driver games, you'd still want that, wouldn't you? You must not be very found of the Video Game Industry and the many other games that it tends to offer. Have you been stuck your whole life in the Open-World/Free-Roaming style of video games (just like Driverman2006)? If so, I can tell why you know very little about what is important.

Sometimes, when a huge problem results, the best decision would be to remove the problem that centers the whole entire subject, thus, you should remove the on-foot or limit it and make it even lower than in the previous Driver games (each Driver game tends to offer less on-foot each time, anyways) to save the franchise from being completely destroyed.

I'm sorry, but the best option is to have Reflections limit the on-foot as much as possible, just to resolve the problem of having its games called "GTA clones" and to have the driving experience go beyond any other driving game that has been out, especially looking at the 7th generations' racing/driving games. After all, those driving & racing games have been beating Driver at its own driving for quite some number of years. Even Burnout's creator, Criterion, has been beating Driver, when Criterion has been around for as long as 2000 or 2001 (I think) while Reflections has been around as a game developer as far as the early 1980s, so wouldn't you find that as a coincidance to have Reflections still be beaten by some much younger team members? It's ridiculous, if you ask me.

I think its unfair to mock my intelegence of video games as they are one of my main hobbies and i do know alot about them and i will have u know driver so happens to be my favourite title and GTA is a title I hate as its so gangster like I mean the godfather is gangster but GTA is full of pimps etc. Limiting on-foot wont work as it will make the game more boaring and to be oinest if it gets called a GTA clone i frankly dont give a **** I enjoy it for what it is. Another thing I think ur getting confused with drivers genre. Its not a street racing game its always been the crime solving cop or in DPL's case the bad boy wheelman not some punk with a car originally worth 800 quid with a sterio with 2000 grand in it. And i am not talking about virtual reality like NINTENDO have tried to do i am talking within the game. I want to feel as if I am living the life of the driver something the original driver had was a atmosphere like in the godfather movies. And as i have said driving eventualy gets boreing theres only so much u can do in a car. A new inavation i liked was the drive-by's in DPL. Thats good ways of adding more to the driving experience, Passsengers would also be quite good. And incase u havn't noticed GTA SA was one of the most popular games of the franchise but lost 24 million dollars because of the hot coffee patch parents wouldnt buy it for their kids. And u said dont bring in simulation a video game of this genre is generaly meant to simulate.

If Driver includes on foot, the game becomes about walking around as a character. As long as that's happening, everything boils down to whether the on foot section holds any steam, versus being in a vehicle, driving, which is what I believe the series is all about.

I originally wanted on foot just because, but eventually realized it may not be the best thing for the long term success of the Driver series, unless Ubisoft can help Reflections pull off a "miracle of sorts", as the on foot was best in DPL out of all the Driver games Reflections made, and look how limited that gameplay was, resulting in limited on foot gameplay with no jumping, climbing, swimming, etc.
