I know this has been talked about before but I have a new idea for a game of this genre.

You pull off heists in every form and manner imaganible Splinter Cell, Hitman style. Banks, Casinos, Musems, Penthouses, Conventions, Car Showrooms (Like Ferrari, Lambo showrooms) , Celebrity Party's, Planes. You have to be good at stealth and have to figure it out for urself as ur informants can only tell u so much.

Your name is Adam Haze agent number 0000792 ranked number 1 in his field of theft there were hitman who feared him as he could get in and do the job then step into a shadow and never be seen again.

Another idea i like is the idea of the apocalipse coming and u having to stop it. But actual storyline has not came to me yet

As long as it's a free roam type of stealth game, where if you're spotted, you have the choice to fight them with alarms blazing with a slightly tougher battle than if you went undiscovered. I never enjoyed stealth when it says "You tripped the alarm, start over", for the 20th time (Syphon Filter 2 for example).

The "24" scenario of saving the world from nuclear war/apocalypse could be interesting, but I'm not nuts about games with timers/countdowns telling you "You only have this much time to play this level." Unless the time given is more than enough for exploration of the level.

Just my reaction, as a fan of action games more than stealth games.

I was thinking of a cool idea for an action/free roaming game. It's for present day consoles (PS3, XBOX 360, and PC).


The game is set in the whole country of the United Kingdom in the late 1960s and early 1970s, it should be called "The British Connection: The 1960s and 1970s". Sure I know it might sound like "The next-gen GTA: London 1969", but it should have a lot more to it. It should have multiple career paths (those that InsaneDriver06 posted in his thread about multiple career paths with the poll), so you could be a cop, criminal, train driver, cab driver, lorry (truck) driver, firefighter, ambulance driver, etc, etc. Each career should have its own mini-story to it, and there'd be no front-end menu. It should also have the deepest in both vehicle and character customization (with all of the features from D:PL, Midnight Club 3, and Forza Motorsport 2 for vehicle customization, and with all of the features from The Godfather and Tony Hawk for character customization). All vehicles should be operable, customizable, and have the most realistic physics and damage in a game (cars, bikes, trucks, buses, construction vehicles, military vehicles, trains, subways, aircraft, boats, etc), I would love to drive british cars such as Jags, MGBs, Rolls Royces, Aston Martins, Bentlies, as well as a lot of other European and American cars. I'd also love to drive british steam trains such as the Flying Scotsman, The Mallard, The Royal Scot, King Edward 1, The Duchess of Hamilton, as well as a bunch more british passenger and freight diesel and steam trains. Another thing that I would love to drive is a double decker british bus. Basically, I want the roster to have lots of vehicles that make England famous like its cars (the are right-hand drive, and drive on the left side of the road), colorful steam and diesel trains, and its double decker buses all from the early 1970s and before. On foot action will be in there, and it will have pretty much anything you could do in GTA:SA, and more. The map will be HUGE (for a game), it'll be the whole Island of the UK (all of England, Scotland, and Wales), and I believe the newest consoles in this day and age can do it. It would be great to have the whole United Kingdom in game because there are many cool environments like industrial/urban/suburban in London, beaches along the seaside on the British coastline, countryside up in Northern England and Scotland, and many others.


The soundtrack to this game should have a lot of famous 60s music by artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Frank Sinatra, The Rolling Stones, Elvis, Lovin' Spoonful, The Beach Boys, David Bowie, The Beatles (if they allow it), and many others. This music will get your groove on... English style!


So what do you think? Is this a good idea for a game? It's a free roaming action game set in the 1960s and 1970s in the UK. I think it would be awesome, especially because Reflections is in England.

I'd buy it. Sony's European company SoHo is working on another Getaway game for the PS3, set in London, England, featuring double deckers, british cabs and many other cars, including modern ones, with realistic graphics.

The controls of the on foot character have always been really clumsy in that series, hopefully they get it right this time, and include an interior dash view while riding/driving bikes, cars and buses.
