I found a cool screenshot here of D:PL on the Wii. It looks like it'll have an interior view. I hope they do, and it's not that hard to make it really. In fact, I wouldn't mind if they had the interior view from Stuntman.

I wouldn't get too excited over a screenshot. Most screenshots, especially at earlier stages of development, are not taken during actual gameplay, so this screenshot means nothing, although the interior is modeled quite nicely...

Really, is that so?... Well, like I said, it's not that hard. Like in Stuntman, all it was, was the camera mounted on the driver's seat. So maybe another camera option when you press select is all you need to go to the interior view. So please Reflections and Ubisoft, make an interior view when driving a vehicle in the new versions of D:PL and Driver 76. Like I said, it shouldn't be too hard to make.

You're exactly right, Matt_jon. Usually, over a certain period of time, there maybe changes made to a game that either remove that function or just change it to look different. We won't really know until we get to play the game. And, come to think of it, I've decided to borrow DPL for the Wii as soon as I'm finished with a second game that I've gotten to rent for GameFly. I would be glad to help out and post anything about the Wii version after finally being able to actually play it.

I saw the ad for D:PL on the Wii in Gameinformer magazine. And when are we going to get the Driver 76 website? I mean really, come on, the game's coming out in less that a month and no website? That's not right, not right at all. So I really want Ubisoft to launch the official Driver 76 website.

The Driver 76 website? It's not out yet, and it looks like it will have a few differences compared to D:PL.

Now you know how in 2006 at Times Square in D:PL you see the Atari logo and a Stuntman billboard? Will they get rid of that stuff and maybe replace it with the Ubisoft logo and something like Blazing Angels Squadrons of WWII or a Tom Clancy game for the PC and Wii version of D:PL? Because Atari no longer owns the rights to the Driver series.

No, they're gonna keep in all the old logos so Atari can sue them.

Well it would be very pointless to start working on a D76 website right now when the game is going to be out pretty soon. And I'm not even sure if the game will sell as much as the GTA games on the PSP have come to sell, so it isn't very much worth to do so.

I'd rather just see Reflections save up the money that they get from D76 and the newer DPL ports and use it for the next-gen Driver as well as a website for it. That would be a much better idea.

I don't know why you would not want a website of Driver 76. I mean, GTA LCS and VCS have their own websites. And Driver 76 will be kind of different compared to D:PL. Let's see, you'll play as Ray from D:PL, there will be some weapons and vehicles not in D:PL, there will be multiplayer games, and more.

Here's another Driver 76 update (I don't mean to go off topic). The game will be released in May, not March. So maybe that will give Ubisoft more time to make a website for it.

I understand what you're saying Driverman2006, but I don't see Driver 76 delivering very much potential. It only has made a few changes that were in DPL and that doesn't make it any big of a difference. The sales, however, may be a difference.

Maybe, just maybe, a web site would gather more attention for every user who goes on the Ubisoft web site, so having a Driver 76 web site wouldn't be a very bad idea at all, but it would need to be done really well.

If Reflections is indeed thinking of a web site to be created, then why not make it based on the development team, them, known as, Reflections? This would allow them to give users the chance to see information on all of their games and that is what many developers have been doing that are of Ubisoft, so why not do that instead?

That's a very good point, as I remember Spiderman 2 for the PS2 showed lots of close up views in the ads and pics, but when I got the game, Spider-Man was so tiny with only one camera view, really hurting the sense that I was "Spider-Man", since the view was so far away/detached. More camera views ALWAYS helps a game's replay value, depending on the game genre.

Yes to interior Dash views. The IDV in Test Drive Unlimited (360) are awesome. They even include one for the bikes.

Next Driver: Interior DASH view, Free Roam TAG MODE chases, Miles of Backroads, Intense Speed-Edge of your seat Action, MAJOR Crash Impacts, day/night cycle, tons of customizable options, lots of stunts, ON FOOT in FPS view/overthe shoulder RE4 style, sportbikes, more car camera views, "Drop a RAMP" Cheat, fun vehicle chases where THE CAR is the Weapon, not a gun...

I don't remember hearing about an intertor dash view when Reflections mentioned info on the Wii version. However, that doesn't say very much because they still have some time and could possibly get some more things done.

Also, I'm curious about the PC port because Reflections hasn't told us anything new that it will have. I guess that it will be just like the PS2 and Xbox ports.

I've played the Wii verson and sadly ebough, no dash view. If Microsoft could have it in 1999 for Midtown Madness why can't Ubisoft have it in DPL in 2007?

The PC port is a lot better.
and I got a chance to check out the dash since I got my car in an awkward position for the camera and the dash board was modeled pretty well except the steering wheel was as thin as paper.

Interior dash views are very rare in PS2 games, probably due to the graphic limitations, the developers chose not to include them, but I would've used that view a lot in the game. Now, on the next consoles, 360, PS3, almost every driving game thankfully includes a detailed interior dash view.

You have a very good point there about the limitations.

and i'm thinking driver would probably be the first free form game to do this.

I also would have thought it would be a great idea to see options which enable you to turn it on and off. The only problem with having it on it would slow the overall frame-rate of the game down on consoles like the ps2.

Only problem is when people take videos and have this mode activated people may aviod buying the game because of a crappy slow framerate, or because of the other graphics lower down just because this mode is activated.
